FiddySicks
Anyone who saw Tyler Walker close for SF think he can be that guy in an actual high-pressure 'off [sic] situation?Absolutely not. I'd rather have Lidge pitch 9 innings then have Walker in when it matters. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) oddball
I find it interesting that with the exception of St. Louis, you can pick on every possible playoff team. Heck the Yankees win the AL East, and Boston looks to get in, then that's bad news for the Angels, but New York now has Boston's number, so if those two meet in the ALCS, I see New York winning 4-1. The Yankees are now in the heads of the Red Sox and their fans. I guess Red Sox fans sold their soul to the devil and it's now time to pay up. Sorry to the fans in the central, but the winner is a questionable team. In the NL, Lidge is going to kill the Phillies, so they're done before they begin, the Dodgers have a patchwork rotation and watching the games this week, their defense has be horrible. The good thing is if either Colorado or San Francisco make the playoffs and can pull an upset, the Dodgers will walk through both those teams after beating the Phils. The teams that I as a Dodger fan don't want to see make the playoffs are Atlanta and Florida, two teams the Dodgers struggle against historically. If it's Dodgers-Cardinals in the NLCS, I see St. Louis winning 4-1. I'm a realist.

The_Admiral
Joe Mauer is one of the ten best (if not five best) players in the game, and if the Twins usurp the Tigers, it will practically be Mauer doing so singlehandedly. Playoffs are a whole new ball game -- I figured you'd have learned that from the Angels last season. The playoffs don't start in October, they start in September and really can you trust a team that looked so good early in the year and has looked so bad since the break. You don't go 8-0 vs. a team and then 1-7 and not have it get into your head. You don't dominate a division and then fade as the Red Sox have done. They don't have momentum nor confidence heading into October and that is a recipe for disaster. Sure, they'll beat the Angels because they always do, and then the Yankees will beat them because they're doubting weather they can beat the Yankees. That 8-0 start means nothing today and they know it. It's not what you did in May and June, it's what you're doing recently and they are getting beat by the Yankees and that is what they'll remember, not victories in May that might as well be 10 years ago.
