Eddie Royal gettin' it done for the Denver return game. He's taken a kickoff and a punt back so far.

I dropped Eddie Royal at the last minute on friday because he hadn't gotten me a single point this season. My head hurts

then wouldn't those point count for Denver D/ST and not Eddie Royal? I don't know how your league works, but to me it seems like it wouldn't matter even if you did play him.

I know from experience, last year I had Reggie Bush score a TD on a punt return that would've won my game for me except the points were given to the guy who had the Saints D/ST and I ended up losing.

That's a good point, and you're probably right. Not sure how it works in the MLF. But it still seems insane, every week I've lost I've panicked and rearranged my lineup at the last second, removing players who played huge. Ahh, fantasy football :P

If "RTD" refers to Return Touchdowns, and you had kept (and played) Royal, you would have beaten me. Instead, I win by 9. Tough break. :D

Alright fine, the Broncos have my respect...theyre legit. yes it took 6 wins, but i'm a believer. i'm sick of hearing all the praise for Kyle orton though

Interesting stat, last year the Bears had a better record than the Broncos with Orton under center, when the Broncos had Cutler as play caller. This year the Broncos have a better record with Orton under center, whilst the Bears are 1 game over .500 with Cutler under center. Just saying.

The Broncos had a horrible defense last year and a very good defense this year.

The Bears had an adequate offensive line last year and a horrible one this year.

I have a theory that one thing McDaniels does is get good leadership out of QBs. I think he runs a playbook that helps QBs lead there team well. I am not saying that the Broncos success this year is all down to Orton, but I think he is an underrated QB, and is not too much of a downgrade for the Broncos at QB, and that McDaniels doesn't need a fabulously strong arm to lead his offense.

Well, that's clearly Jay Cutler's fault. :P

Y'all need to take that fantasy s**t somewhere else. No one gives a :censored: about your fantasy team.

Orton, but I think he is an underrated QB

Kyle Orton is correctly rated as an average game-managing quarterback who succeeds when everything goes his way. I've seen enough of the guy to know. You don't need a fabulously strong arm when Mike Nolan is coaching the hell out of your defense and you have Brandon Marshall to catch your passes, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have one. Ceteris paribus, I would rather have a really good quarterback than an average quarterback.

The Rams traded Will Witherspoon to the Eagles for rookie WR Brandon Gibson and a 5th-rd pick

To the Rams fans wondering about Gibson, he was a low-round pick because he was injured and Washington State stunk, but he stood out in the preseason and should get playing time now. (He had no shot of playing ahead of Jackson, Maclin, Curtis, Avant or Brown.)

Mike Nolan, where were you the last 4 years with this defense......

In all serious, let's go back to Feb. 2007. Schottenheimer suddenly gets fired by SD and replaced by Norv Turner, 49ers OC. As a result, Niners offense went down the crapper, and got fired midway through 2008. If Nolan had Turner's help, then he would probably still be the coach of them today(though Mike Singletary is better). This season, he is the DC for Denver had they have been on lockdown all throughout the year. Now that's just some irony right there

Nolan was an interesting hire by the 49ers, given his dad had been a coach there, but in the end I am not sure he was quite HC material (may be at some point in the future mind!) But it must be good for McDaniels to have some HC experience to draw on as well. I think the Broncos could be amongst the best coached teams in the NFL.

The Rams were down to two wideouts at points on Sunday, and are throwing to a guy they pulled off the street.

Gibson is automatically an upgrade.

On the NFL Network show 'Sound FX' last week, they had McDaniels wired and I was really surprised by some of his sound bites. He was over talking to Orton and said, "I've heard enough of 'my bad'. Just make the play!" Wasn't expecting that from a guy who looks like he should be out shopping for a corsage to give his prom date. :D
