He got a solid d-man with a bit of an offensive mind (and, who ive heard, does well in shutting down ovy) in Leopold, adding even more defensive depth, and a solid scoring winger in Ponikarovsky.All that by losing a couple draft picks, a defensive liability in skoula, and Caputi. Long term that could be bad. We may regret losing him in a few years, but we just as well may not. At first I didnt like the idea of trading a promising young prospect for a rental just to get immediate scoring, but short term this is a good move.No huge transactions like the past two years, but in the end I think the pens come out better than before with some helpful new guys. Would have liked them to acquire someone who could play on the third line and keep Wellwood andBernier nervous.
