New Halo color on the Angels Unis

I was on the home page,and saw on the most recent logo additions the Angels were on there,so I went to there page. i saw this. Then I went to the 2011 unis,and looked at the 50th Anniversary patch on the sleeve,then as I looked closely to see any other changes then I saw the gold halo around the A on the hat and on the jersey script.

Yep, gold halos all around for the 50th anniversary. It's more in line with the classic yellow halo the Angels used for years, so let's hope they decide to make it a permanent change.

I haven't seen it in person but from pictures the gold on the halo is really subtle

That's the shade of yellow they should be using. Agreed with the guy upthread who said you can hardly tell it's gold.

Not sure about those old 1961 halo hats. Seems like the halo would get all bent out of shape and wind up looking kind of haphazard. Their best hat is the current one.

The blue outline should go all the way around the A in Angeles, and not stop where the halo goes under it.

The yellow of the halo shouldn't be touching the red of the A. I look at it like everything should have its own outline, not just the outside of the shape. IMO that style only works when everything in the logo / wordmark is connected, like a patch.

Oh, I see what you mean now. The halo always touches the A in the current set, and I guess I've never thought anything of it.

The Angels should backdoor a Los Angeles jersey into the set by having it be their contribution to the Hispanic Night trend in the vein of Los Rangers and Los Mets. It says "The Angels," and they are! I'd laugh.

I don't want to see "Los Angeles" on the Angels uniforms. I hope Arte Moreno has some sense slapped into him and he puts "Anaheim" back on the jerseys.

The Angels have been consistently competitive under Moreno's stewardship.

It never ceases to amaze me that some individuals would like to see the franchise return to the dark times.

Pre-emptive dismissal of "they were the Anaheim Angels under Disney ownership when they won a world championship": yeah, but that was a mostly forgettable white-bread wild card team and their success can be attributed much more to dumb luck and small sample size than the perennial organizational excellence they've had under Moreno. And he lowered beer prices, too!

At least they weren't wearing periwinkle featherwings when they gritty-grindy'd their way to a championship with David Eckstein and Darin Erstad. Be thankful for the little things.

Yeah, maybe the script doesn't look half bad. Regardless, it's a principle thing

And exactly agree on the shade of gold. That is the perfect Angels logo. I also actually kind of like the logo without the beveling on it. And as far as the blue in the logo, I always saw it as a background mounting to the A/Halo rather than an outline of the A itself.

As far as the halo hats, with the structure of the New Era hats, it might be fine on most guys, but it'd look like ass if anyone went the Tim Lincecum route with their hat. I'd have to actually see it on the hat or a person to judge it. It might be just a little too gimmicky now I think as well. I personally think it just looks way different on the 1960s type of hats than it would on the current style of hats. I'd be an interesting thing to try as like a throwback or alternate, but I don't think I'd want it full time by any means.

Of course you must be referring to their 2002 World Series Title as the ANAHEIM Angels? Not quite certain what Moreno's done for the team besides a legacy of being swept by the Red Sox on an annual basis and bungling potential major free agent signings.

I agree...Anaheim Angels is the superior name.

Here's a scary thought: "Los Angeles" on the front and "Anaheim" on the back nameplate for all players.

Sure it's possible from the team with the most stupid name in all of sports. Not the Angels part, that's a great name...just the other paragraph of their team's name.
