  1. Last night was rough for FC Cincinnati. A few weeks ago I said that the match with St Louis was the one I was worried about the most. Its hard enough to win or draw on the road, especially against a team that started so hot. Then when we lost Acosta, that pretty much sealed the loss for me. The long weather delay didnt help either. For some reason, when we are without Acosta we revert back to our 2019-21 form.
  2. Hearing more rumors of the ACC falling apart now. North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia Tech and Miami to the Big Ten. North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and Louisville to the Big 12. Florida State and Clemson to the SEC. I can see a few of these happening but not all. Its hard to get out of the ACC but If I heard correctly if 8 or more schools bolt that ACC deal becomes null and void. These realignment rumors are getting crazier.
  3. Im sure @Sport would agree with me, but as someone from Cincinnati, most people in Ohio hate Pittsburgh when it comes to just about everything.
  4. I agree. I would think they would want both UA and ASU, not to mention the fifth largest market in the US. Both schools have been in the same conference together since 1931. I cant see them splitting up now.
  5. Red Bulls supporters group is walking out after the anthem
  6. One of the latest Pac12-Big 12 rumors Ive heard is that the Big 12 is only interested in Colorado and Arizona and not Utah or Arizona State.
  7. I know Klein said he would step down if the Galaxy missed the playoffs, but I dont know if supporters are willing to wait that long. If there are more LAFC fans at the Sports Park than Galaxy fans, Klein should step down immediately, rather than wait until the end of the season. You never want more away fans at your stadium, especially when its your rival.
  8. I mean, there is a reason its called Salt Lake City and not Fresh Water Lake City
  9. LAFC and... checks notes.... FC Cincinnati are the lone remaining unbeaten clubs in MLS. Cincinnati held on for a 1-0 victory over Philadelphia tonight. FCC plays at St Louis next week, possibly for the Supporters Shield lead. St Louis and Seattle are scoreless at the half. A loss or draw by St Louis gives Cincinnati, the supporters shield lead.
  10. Down on the farm tonight, the Reds AA club, Chattanooga Lookouts were No Hit by the Angels AA club, Rocket City Trash Pandas. The Trash Pandas lost 7-5 though. All 7 runs came in the same inning off of 5 walks, 4 hit batters, an error and a wild pitch.
  11. Could the NCAA allow them to move their football to DI (FCS) and remain at D-2, similar to Dallas Baptist for baseball and several hockey schools? That might make the most sense to me is have their football in the Big Sky.
  12. Thursdays Phillies Home Opener against the Reds has been postponed to Friday due to impending weather. The Reds finale today with the Cubs was postponed due to weather as well. That'll be made up in a doubleheader in September. Two days off now for the Reds.
  13. MLS just added Ticketmaster as their official ticketing partner a month ago for a multiyear deal, however the tickets I purchased recently for an FC Cincinnati match still went through Seat Geek.
  14. St Louis suffers their first defeat of the season at the hands of Minnesota. Minnesota, LAFC and Cincinnati remain unbeaten. With Cincinnatis win tonight, they are now in first place in the Eastern Conference, for the first time in MLS, and are one point behind St Louis in the Supporters Shield standings.
  15. Posted in the college basketball thread, but I think it fits here too. A couple of potential things with this weekends Final Four when it comes to Florida Atlantic. If Florida Atlantic somehow wins the NCAA Tournament, CUSA would sweep the postseason mens tournaments. (North Texas won the NIT, and Charlotte won the College Basketball Invitational.) All three schools move to the American Athletic Conference next season. Also, If Florida Atlantic and Miami play each other for the title, it will mark only the third time two teams from the same state play each other in the championship game. The previous two were Cincinnati and Ohio State in 1961 and 1962 (Cincinnati won both).
  16. Couple things at stake this weekend. First, a potential for a CUSA sweep. North Texas won the NIT, and Charlotte won the College Basketball Invitational. If Florida Atlantic somehow wins the NCAA tournament we will have a sweep of the tournaments by CUSA. Second we could see two schools from the same state play each other in the Championship game (Florida Atlantic and Miami). Only other time that happened was in 1961 and 1962, when Cincinnati beat Ohio State both times.
  17. Actually the new Burger King logo more closely resembles the 1994 logo that updated the 1968 logo. 1969-99 1994-99 2020-pre As for the Pepsi change, the colors seem too dark for me. I do like that the better globe returned though. The font seems off to me to.
  18. Ive been told all MLS fanbases hate Seattle.
  19. Not really. Cincy fans are laughing that some Nashville fans actually made the shirt. We weren't hurt by the shirt or its message at all. Seattle however had a big tizzy when we told them to **** themselves.
  20. When it comes to rivals for Cincinnati in the USL we had Pittsburgh, Indy, Louisville, and Saint Louis. Although they werent in the USL yet, Detroit was also kind of a rival because of an Open Cup match. When Cincinnati moved up to MLS, Columbus became our regional rival. Chicago and New York Red Bulls became rivals because of the Open Cup (somehow Minnesota didnt stick). Charlotte isnt really a rival. Its been forced upon us because of the whole Queen City thing. As much as I would like St Louis City to become a rival, i dont think it will stick with St Louis being in the western conference. If we would play them every year then maybe it could stick.
  21. Am I the only one who hates the black in the Reds uniforms? Ive loved the red/white that they have had prior to 1999.
