  1. I wonder if they were all inspired by "Wild Thing" Vaughn?
  2. Not really. A Canuck is still meant to be a person, not an animal. The bull represents Calgary more than it does a Canuck.
  3. That's just stupid. Should have just deleted the front, too. Otherwise, it is a nice jersey and I can see why they kept it the same. New logo is a big upgrade.
  4. This might be controversial. I don't like the fact that the swoosh isn't on the same side on the NBA jerseys and shorts.
  5. I'm not entirely sure about the Spitfire, but you might be thinking about the Lethbridge Hurricanes because not only did they use the same template, their wordmark logo was very similar to the Capitals wordmark logo. A lot of junior teams use the same template as a NHL team without issue, but the combination of both the logo and template was a little too much for the Caps liking.
  6. I get that the NBA, NFL, and MLB are the best leagues in their sports and have the best players, but I hate it when somebody or the team labels the champions as World Champions. It's not a world competition like the real World Cup. Maybe in the past when the world was a much "smaller" place without the internet and all that, you could get away with that, but I don't think you can these days.
  7. It's minor league hockey at its finest. It wouldn't be so bad if they got rid of the vertical stripes and only used it as an alternate jersey.
  8. I'm pretty sure the We The North is more of reference to being the only Canadian team in the NBA, being north of the border, and not actually saying we are the most northern city in the league.
  9. Not even my team, but I'm bugged by the yellow thread around the St. Louis Blue shoulder yoke.
  10. I'm sure that's the reason. It's just that who thought that was a good idea in the first place? New tech in materials is great and all, but I wish the manufacturers took more into account at how the final product looks. The socks are a small thing and fans aren't going out and buying them, but it just looks so bad.
  11. It does seem like past teams had a jersey that was more in line with their regular colours. But, it wasn't like the blue and white was completely random, though. The jerseys are also auctioned off and all proceeds go to help veterans, so I'm okay for 1 game out of min. 3, them not looking like how they regularly do. From the Moosehead website. The Theme Jersey was designed by the Halifax Mooseheads in conjunction with the Canadian Hockey League. The jersey pays tribute to the Nova Scotia Highlanders (NS Highrs) by proudly displaying their hat badge as our front crest. The NS Highrs are one of only two units from the Maritime provinces that took part in the Landing at Normandy on D-Day in 1944 during World War II. This year marks the 75thanniversary of that event.
  12. And I will raise you Kerr as a Trail Blazer.
  13. The CHL Memorial Cup is happening right now. The host, Halifax Moosehead, wore a special, memorial jersey for the opener. Too bad they completed the look with socks that don't wrap all the way around, just like their opponents on the night, the Prince Albert Raiders.
  14. One off jerseys like these shouldn't really count. The uniform should be one where the players have worn them or they were in use for at least a year or two to count.
  15. In 1989, the Canucks changed their uniforms once again, ditching the puke yellow home jerseys that Brian Burke, the Canucks assistant GM at the time, hated. They kept the logo and colours, but it could have been another radical colour and logo change. Burke liked the proposed design, but didn't think ownership wanted to make the change after spending $100,000 on the skate logo. The local designer also tweaked the skate logo, neither of which were accepted.
  16. I like the overall design, but I'm not sold on the colours. The red and purple don't really seem to go together. It might be the red yoke and the purple cuffs that don't really go together. It's the same problem the Ducks have with their white jersey. Drop the yoke and it might be better.
  17. The Reebok Edge template screwed up a lot of jerseys everywhere. It continues with CCM and Adidas (maybe not as bad), but just in a different way. Some will say jerseys in the past might have look too simple or similar, but they looked good and that is what should matter in the end.
  18. Gordie! Howe on the left. No idea who on the right. Sharks should go back to that shade of teal.
  19. That was based on a new arena getting built, which obviously hasn't happened yet. I have no idea what exactly is going on with that, but I do think that if it ever does get built, the Manitoba Moose would end up moving.
  20. As we all should know by now, players can be superstitious, so something like a number can be a big thing to them. Mark Messier, for example, had it written in on his contract with the Canucks that he wore number 11, even though it had been unofficially retired in memory of Wayne Maki, who had died of brain cancer. Since Messier, no other player has worn that number. So, it could be something like a player demanding a number and getting it, even if it had been worn by another significant player previously. Or, maybe it's a Pavel Bure situation. He left the Canucks on really bad terms. A few players have worn the number 10 after he left. Eventually, the Canucks and Bure made up and they retired his number.
  21. One down, many to go then. Much, much better than the old set. Too bad there isn't a proper logo, though. I hate script logos.
  22. There are a lot of terrible uniforms in the CHL that need to be rectified ASAP. Too many teams bearing the ugly hallmarks of the Reebox Edge uniform system. Hands down the worst would be the Erie Otters.
  23. I don't think this guy belongs here. It's more for guys who played for years or is more remembered for one team (or even two), then showing up in another jersey, like Gretzky in a Blues uniform.
  24. Swift Current Broncos to honour Humboldt Broncos with a special jersey that will be worn on Nov 2, then auctioned off.
