  1. No professional team should use a wordmark or diagonal letters on their jerseys instead of an actual logo. The Rangers get grandfathered in, but they are the only team. Even Pittsburgh, unless it's their retro jersey, should not have a jersey with diagonal letters on it. Why go through all the trouble of coming up with a logo, but not put it on the jersey?
  2. Is this the college hockey thread? Even then, I still say wordmarks don't belong on the front of a hockey jersey.
  3. This jersey would only rank above the flying V. Giant front numbers and a wordmark do not belong in hockey.
  4. If the Canucks leaked RR is true, I might be tempted to pick one up. It looks fantastic. Hope they don't ruin it by putting the numbers on the front. The modern version of Johnny Canuck looks better, but going with the classic version makes sense considering the program. Also, considering the Canucks didn't reverse their retros twice now, as well as a few other teams the first time around, and with the rumoured Expos inspired Canadiens RR, the program really should have been called Retro Remixed. Small nitpick, I know.
  5. Not sure if it means anything, but at the Canucks' prospect camp, the players were wearing pants without the stripes on the side. Edit: After looking at the Abby Canucks, they don't have stripes on the pants, so I guess that's the reason and the Canucks aren't changing anything.
  6. If it were only an alternate, it would have been fine. As the primary, it was a little too over the top for the Islanders. Maybe if they had dropped the shoulder yoke and positioned the numbers in a more normal way, maybe it could have worked.
  7. So, if Vegas is going gold full time at home, I feel like they should switch to the grey pants for the aways, if that's not the plan. With the only black being in the logo on the white jersey and on the collar, the black pants is somewhat out of place, no?
  8. In 1996 when they updated their jerseys and switched to navy. I don't know if it's officially called salmon, but they added a red outline around the logo. It was also used on the numbers and outlined the copper stripe. Devils's 40th logo.
  9. Memorial Cup time. The host team, Saint John Sea Dogs were a special jersey for the opener. Too bad they don't have matching pants and gloves.
  10. The NBA should just allow the Jazz to rebrand (again) as soon as possible. If the fans hate it so much and merchandise is going to just sit, they might as well allow them to change after 2 or 3 years, not 5. The alternative would be to introduce another vintage or purple based jersey next season and just wear them all the time like the Lakers did with the gold jersey when the NBA did away with the home/away designations, and wear the black/yellow jerseys the bare minimum.
  11. Unlike last year, the Lions didn't put the helmet stripes back on for the start of the regular season.
  12. Seems like they have changed the logo.
  13. Maybe they should have made the back numbers red, then the stripes might not be visible through the numbers.
  14. I don't know what the correct choice for the Ducks is, but I don't understand why they shouldn't promote the orange alternate as the primaries just because of the Flyers. Nobody is going to confuse the two teams. In a 32 team league, I think there's room for two orange and black teams. Oilers should have never switched to orange for their home jersey. It should have always stayed as the alternate. It was kinda funny how the entire arena was in orange for game 1, but the team was wearing their navy alternates.
  15. Aren't the camo patterns copyrighted and why they can't be used? Also, so the fashion camo pattern can be copyrighted by New Era.
  16. I would wait until the regular season begins to see whether the stripes are gone for good. Last year, they didn't have the stripes during training camp, but they were back on when the regular season started.
  17. The jerseys are a tribute to the city's iconic fountains and art deco architecture. They are navy as a reference to past teams. The sleeve logo is a homage to the Royals original logo. First game April 30. Also, from the ESPN article I got all this info from, they were also chosing between designs referencing BBQ and jazz.
  18. Red and yellow looks fine. Maybe some don't like it because it reminds them of McDonalds? I will say that the tire tread strip down the sides and especially the helmet is kinda weird on the Stars.
  19. When have the Senators ever wore those socks? The pre-edge socks are the same ones they are wearing now.
  20. For me, using the Atlanta A is too gimmicky for the Flames current traditional set. It was fine on the previous set.
  21. Doesn't really go with the current set. Maybe on an alternate jersey.
  22. Flames should have used the actual Atlanta Flames jersey instead of just throwing the Flaming A on a practice jersey. Other themed jerseys I kinda get why they do it that way, but not in this case.
