  1. First the Lions and now the Canucks. Would like to know the reasoning behind dropping the stripes on the pants. Seems like an unnecessary move. Did the team need to cut some money on the pants budget so the owner could make some political donations for the upcoming civic election?
  2. They should have dumped the orange on the triangle part of the logo. It never looked right even with the previous sets. It's fine on the stick and eye. And, the thing about the black gear is that we are so use to it. So, now that the Sharks have all teal gear, it looks weird. Eventually, everyone will get use to it and it would be, like why didn't they do that in the first place? It's not like Colorado where the blue gear will always look off to me, at least with the white jerseys.
  3. The Lions will be wearing special Indigenous themed helmets on Sept 30, which is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, aka Orange Shirt Day. The Lions and Red Blacks will also both be wearing orange spatting, which google informs me is taping up of the cleats.
  4. Real translation: Nobody has offered us enough money, yet.
  5. The Sharks new jerseys are two thumbs up. Only complaint is the orange border on the logo. It never looked right, even with the old jerseys.
  6. The guy was asked and said they were just the normal pants. That the lighting on his phone sucks.
  7. According to the guy's twitter, the black C is from a backplate from some other jersey, which he used for this custom military jersey.
  8. From Skoda: The logo was based on a wheel with lime leaves to symbolise the Slavic nations. The names of the company's founders (Laurin & Klement) were added and went on to become the main motif of a new logo.
  9. Hurricanes big downgrade ditching the home reds. But, if they really want to be a black team now, they could have at least come up with a matching road jersey. And, what exactly is the primary logo now? What has been their primary, is on the shoulder on the now home and isn't even on the white jersey. As for the Flames and the ghost flame cuffs. Thumbs down. Would have looked better to just have coloured in flames for the cuffs higher up, replacing the sleeve stripes. Really hope other teams don't go down this road, but there probably are others.
  10. The leaked RR jersey looked to be navy. The new pants are in the regular colours.
  11. A while ago, I made a post about the possibility that the Canucks might be dropping the stripes from their pants because their prospects wore pants that did not have them. Turned out that the Abbottsford Canucks didn't have stripes on their pants, so maybe that was the reason. Fast forward to today and a couple of new players who definitely won't be starting the season in the minors, were in the new Canucks' gear and had pants that didn't have the stripes. They were different from the ones worn with the alternates because the manufacturer's mark was on the side instead of the front. I would say it's a bit of a mistake to lose the stripes if that's what is actually going to happen.
  12. Not sure if it's underreported, but in 1992, Canucks changed the orange stripe to red. The shade of yellow also changed to a brighter shade.
  13. It's not a bad jersey, but with the different sleeves, it probably should have stayed as an alternate. It's a good example of what I think an alternate should be. A little outside the box, but still looks good.
  14. More like the Ottawa Redblacks.
  15. No jersey retirement. They are being inducted into the team's hall of fame.
  16. Could that Cardinal jersey simply be their practice jersey?
  17. Maybe the Flames will have four jerseys next year. They could wear Blasty for two or three games and have another alternate jersey. Canucks had four jerseys last year.
  18. On the shoulder if there's no shoulder logo there or on the other side where the C or A go. Or, do what a couple of BCHL teams did for the league's 60th anniversary and put the patch in the weirdest location on the back hem.
  19. The '09 winter classic was 12 years ago. I think it'll be fine if they came out with a red version, or even a vintage white. Hell, go full on red from head to toe.
  20. I could live with the black helmet as an alternate, but the orange version is a no go at all.
  21. Blackhawks still have a number of options in their history they could have pulled from. A red version of the jerseys they wore from 26-34 or a red version of the jersey they wore in 34-35. Shouldn't have to come up with a faux RR jersey only the second time around for a team that have different jerseys in their history.
  22. If it's CCM, they need a new template. Or, at least modify what they have now. The weird camo collar definitely needs to go and straighten out that hem. I still don't know why the curved hem was every something Reebok decided needed to be a thing.
