  1. NBC's Olympic logos seem much better than what the IOC foists on the public.
  2. I would try... - Putting a layer or two of green acrylic paint on some heavy Bristol board. - Sketch out the yard lines, hash marks, etc, with a pencil and a ruler or T-square. - Use a layer or two of white acrylic paint to do the yard lines. Maybe use something rectangular or artists' tape around the yard lines to keep the lines straight. - Maybe a stencil for the numbers and directional arrows. - After the field and basic markings are dried, maybe draw whatever logos you want, albeit backwards, on a sheet of tracing paper. - Take said sheet of tracing paper, scribble over the reverse side to transfer your logos on the board. - The rest is up to you!
  3. Kind of a shame that ESPNEWS got rid of that on air look.
  4. @Discrimihater How are those home made Arena and CFL boards coming along?
  5. Are you interested in USFL Fields?

Or how about WLAF/NFL Europe fields?

I will need to scower for some of the WLAF/NFL Euorpe fields. I believe I have a couple of Frankfurt Galaxy pics somewhere, ;-D

Here's a stripped down version of the Amsterdam Admirals' wordmark.

On and off the endzones would have "Amsterdam" in the Democratica italic font with the capital A being the same as you see above. For week 8 of 1996, the "Amsterdam" text was orange with a navy stroke against the plain green grass. For week 10 of 1996, the end zone was colored in a blue lighter than what the Admirals used. The Admiral logo at the 50 yard line appears to have a Columbia blue stroke around the logo.

Even though this clip is really highlights for the Galaxy, I wanted to point out the Barcelona Dragons' endzones consisted most of the time of the city name in the same Charlemagne font as the Dragons' wordmark. Note the red and blue accents on the 50 yard line of the Dragons' field. On the Galaxy's field, notice how the colors of the "FRANKFURT" text on the endzones change with each home game. And one more thing about Frankfurt's field, the grounds crew at Waldstadion seemed to have painted the Galaxy logo with a smoother gradient technique instead of trying to do all those little square dots and stuff.

  6. Here's the field for the Bucs' last game at the Big Sombrero. Note the "Feel the Power" logo next to the Buccaneers' wordmark on the endzone when Dilfer throws to Copeland for Tampa's first touchdown. On the end zone when Alstott takes the handoff for another TD in the second half, note the NFL shield next to the Bucs' wordmark.
  7. Thanks for the follow on my Driveball series. Much appreciated!

  8. A few screenshots from a USA Network World League broadcast, namely the 1991 playoff between the Barcelona Dragons and Birmingham Fire from Legion Field.
  9. Here's the field from the Music City Miracle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoE0VLUz00o Appears to be light blue accents on the numbers and red and navy accents around the 20 and 50 yard lines.
  10. That last Chiefs Astroturf field is the best they had IMO. However, I'm sure Chiefs fans rightfully prefer the natural grass surface the team has used since '94.
  11. I like what the Panthers did for the Divisional Playoffs.
  12. This, to me, is the ideal field design for stadiums where pro and college teams share the facility. Well done!
  13. Cincy should keep the new stripe pattern going forward. Upgrade! Did that block letter wordmark carry over to the Panthers' first year at Ericsson Stadium?
  14. Maybe someone that works at the network must share our disdain for what we deem to be downgrades.
  15. Maybe you're right. Do you still need help with past fields? Here is the Bolts' field from their time in San Diego. From a 1996 MNF game against Detroit. Note the navy outlines on the 50 yard line, navy strokes on the numbers, and the drop shadow on the SAN DIEGO wordmark in the endzone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-EtqEAZn00
  16. Pretty good, although I am still annoyed with the Pack not coloring in the green part of the oval. Looks kinda unfinished to be honest.
  17. Love the Bucky Barnes Badger avatar.

As for how to help the AAF, it should be more like a fictional game I based on Aussie Rules and Gaelic Football, which you can read about here:

  18. Nice job on Indianapolis. Do we have a list of Hall of Famers for each team? Also, I'd like to hear stories about how each team got their colors, maybe something inspired by this...
  19. And if my research is correct, that was their last game at KC Municipal Stadium before moving into Arrowhead.
