  1. Disagree. Japan and Mexico's jerseys are MLB-caliber to me. No gradients, weird graphics or other gimmicky elements. Just clean, classy uniforms. EDIT: I guess my one nitpick with Japan is the use of red on the caps when it doesn't appear anywhere on the rest of their uniforms.
  2. Thanks! Thanks! I don't know if I really get the Giants comparison for the Bears, though. Up today are the Kansas City Lions! LIONS HOME: LIONS ROAD: LIONS HOME ALT: LIONS ROAD ALT: Notes: - The Royals' mascot is Sluggerrr (yep, that's three "R's). Lions have been depicted as symbols of royalty and courage for centuries. - KC has always included shades of gold in their identity, but seldomly has it been incorporated into their actual uniforms. Here, gold becomes the dominant color at home with the team going more blue-heavy on the road. - The "Lions" script comes from the Seibu Lions of the NPB and matches KC's "Royals" script quite well. I added a tail to make it more consistent with the Royals' script. - The cartoon lion on the sleeve was previously used by the Omaha Royals (now Storm Chasers), Kansas City's Triple-A affiliate. And with this latest rebrand, the AL Central would effectively be: C&C appreciated!
  3. Colombian kids: "Can we get Red Sox City Connect jerseys?" Colombian parents: "We have Red Sox City Connect jerseys at home."
  4. Did we get confirmation that the D-Backs' purple and teal throwbacks are being designated as a official alt?
  5. Thank you both! As @MJD7 pointed out, I somehow forgot to use the updated version of the Twins' "TC," so I'll likely get around to tweaking that once I finish this series. Happy Phriday! It's time for the Philly Phanatics! Notes: PHANATICS HOME: PHANATICS ROAD: PHANATICS HOME ALT: PHANATICS ROAD ALT: Notes: - I should have clarified (warned?) in my first post in this thread that a LOT of teams in this project would make heavy use of green. The Phanatics aren't the first, and they won't be the last. - Phanatic green is paired with the Phillies' old burgundy to create a new and distinctive color scheme. - I worked up new "Philly" and "Phanatics" scripts in the style of the Phillies' 1970s-80s wordmark. - A playful rendering of the Phanatic occupies the sleeve of the home primary and road alt. C&C appreciated! Another team will be up in the next few days.
  6. Nice job on the last couple teams! Pink is a bold departure from Japan's regular look and I think it could work, but I would use it a little more sparingly. For example, on the home jersey, I'd keep the wordmark navy but add a pink stroke around it. Also, would the pink alt w/ white pinstripes be paired with matching pants or solid white ones?
  7. Great start to this series! The racing striped Argentina alt is a thing of beauty. For Australia, is it possible to slightly arch the wordmark you used without making it look distorted? I think that would be a happy medium between their current script and this one. Keep up the great work!
  8. You'll just have to wait and see. Other than the World Series scandal, I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Yeah, I get that. The other obvious solution is just to ditch the alien altogether and replace all instances of it with the cap logo, but I really wanted to incorporate some sort of alien imagery, hence the addition of a martian-like green. Anyway, next up are the Twin City Bears! BEARS HOME: BEARS ROAD: BEARS HOME/ROAD ALT: Notes: - Minnesota's mascot is T.C. Bear, who's loosely modeled after the Hamm's Beer Bear. Hamm's was an early sponsor of the Twins in the 1960s. - For the primary logo, I had the idea to combine the Twins' TC with the Cubs' old 1908-14 bat-wielding bear logo. Here's a close-up of that logo. - The home script is a reworking of this 1960s Denver Bears script - With the team rebranding from "Minnesota" to "Twin Cities," this allowed me to use the script from the Twins' new Sunday home alternate as the road wordmark. C&C appreciated!
  9. Thanks! Thank you! I've been enjoying your series as well and I hope you continue to follow along with mine. I'm back today with the Houston Orbit! ORBIT HOME: ORBIT ROAD: ORBIT HOME ALT: ORBIT ROAD ALT: Notes: - I've always loved the idea of an MLB team with an extraterrestrial-themed identity, so I had a lot of fun with this one. - Similar to the Parrots, Houston gets a heavy dose of green added to their look to go with their usual navy and orange. - Orbit is the rare MLB mascot to have a logo of his own, a very cool ringed baseball resembling the planet Saturn. I modified this logo and added the Astros "H" to turn it into the Orbit's primary logo. For the sleeve design and road alt, I repurposed the alien head from the now-defunct Las Vegas 51s minor league team. - Big thanks to @Victormrey who gave me the idea to rework the 1960s Astros' script into a new "Orbit" wordmark! C&C appreciated! Another AL team is next.
  10. Still a bland design, in my opinion. It’s basically every concept for a Dodgers alternate I’ve seen on these forums the past decade or so + blue pants.
  11. The gradient for Australia is an inspired idea! For China, I'd personally either darken the red or lighten the orange a bit for some better contrast. Either way, it's an interesting color scheme for the country.
  12. Thanks for the explanation. Makes total sense! Memphis turned out awesome. Love the very Swinging Padre/Mr. Redlegs-esque King Tut logo. My only nitpick is that the bat the mascot is wielding seems oversized, unless that was a deliberate choice. Keep up the awesome work!
  13. Not a bad idea! Here's how that would look on the home uni: Good suggestions for the Seals: SEALS HOME: SEALS ROAD: Not sure I totally understand your request. Do you want my original design with the eagle crest and tiny "Eagles" script but in this typeface?
  14. Heh, yeah. I honestly didn't give any thought to "Eagles" also being the name of an NFL team. Thank you! I think you'll like what I came up with for Colorado. Here you go! It looks good, but I prefer my original version. Up next are the San Francisco Seals! SEALS HOME: SEALS ROAD: SEALS HOME ALT: SEALS ROAD ALT: Notes: - The Giants' mascot is Lou Seal, inspired by the harbor seals who laze about on the shorelines throughout the San Francisco Bay area - This one is a fairly straightforward update of the San Francisco Seals of the Pacific Coast League, adding two new alternates in team colors. I also found a number font to match the style of the "Seals" script and monogram. - For the sleeve patch, I combined the roundels of the Sea Lions of the Negro Leagues and the San Francisco Seals minor league hockey team. C&C appreciated! We head back to the AL West for the next team.
  15. The Saguaros look great, but it's kind of odd for a team named after cactuses to not wear at least some green.
  16. Thanks, man! That means a lot coming from you. Yeah, I get that. Maybe I'll try the Elephants in gray after all. I promise the rest of the teams in the series will be far less conventional, both in terms of logos and color schemes. Next up are the Washington Eagles! EAGLES HOME: EAGLES ROAD: EAGLES HOME ALT: EAGLES ROAD ALT: Notes: - Though the Racing Presidents are probably more associated with the Nationals, the team's official mascot is actually Screech the bald eagle. It's only fitting that the mascot of the team from our nation's capital is also a symbol of the U.S. itself. - My design rolls in elements from a few historical teams, namely the Newark Eagles of the Negro Leagues and the Montreal Expos. - Since the Nationals already use a suitably patriotic color scheme, I didn't feel the need to change the color scheme much. I did, however, shift from navy to Old Glory Blue (Hex #0A3161), the shade used on the U.S. flag. C&C appreciated! Another NL team is on deck.
  17. The '59s might be my favorite Sox uniform of all time, but I wouldn't want them becoming a regular alternate, given their similarity to the team's everyday home uniforms. The 1917 set looks completely different yet still distinctly "White Sox."
  18. Agreed 100%. It's high time to retire the '83s and make these the new Sunday throwbacks: For my money, one of the best uniforms in baseball history, and the team actually won a championship wearing them.
  19. Hey, I can be objective about uniforms of teams I hate.
  20. Thank you! Thanks for the feedback! Here are your suggested tweaks to the Bobcats home set: Since there wasn't much contrast between the off-white and sand, I changed the trim color for the script and numbers. Here you go: And since you're a big fan of sleeveless jerseys, @VampyrRabbit, I think you'll like the next team. Up today are the Oakland Elephants! ELEPHANTS HOME: ELEPHANTS ROAD: ELEPHANTS HOME ALT: ELEPHANTS HOME/ROAD ALT: Notes: - The elephant has been a symbol of the A's dating back to their time in Philadelphia over a century ago, with Stomper becoming the team's official mascot in 1997. - I used this rebrand to put forth my idea of what the A's should look like, bringing back sleeveless jerseys with McAuliffe style numbers and the arched Old English "Oakland" wordmark from the late '60s. - Just as the Athletics use the shorthand "A's" on their caps and uniforms, I created a new "E's" logo in that same blackletter style. - I briefly toyed with using an elephant gray and white color scheme but decided it would be a sacrilege to mess with the A's iconic green and gold. C&C appreciated!
  21. Great job on Australia. A few suggestions/requests: - Since the primary green is so muted, maybe lighten up the road gray just a tad for better contrast with the green piping. I know it's a bit of a balancing act because you also used neon green. - For the alt, how about putting the cap logo on the chest in place of the "Australia" script? It's too good not to put front and center and would avoid having three jerseys that all use the same wordmark. Keep up the awesome work!
  22. Agreed! I'm glad the team decided to complement their sand-colored City Connect jerseys with sand pants starting last season. Let's finish up the week with the Seattle Moose! MOOSE HOME: MOOSE ROAD: MOOSE HOME ALT: MOOSE ROAD ALT: Notes: - No one knows why Seattle's mascot is a moose. Ok, the actual reason is because it won a kids' contest in 1990 to vote for the next Mariners mascot. - The colors are a dark, moose-y brown and teal from the Seattle flag. I also kept the off-white/cream from the team's Sunday fauxbacks because I felt it gave the uniforms a nice vintage feel. - Since there's no cartoony animal logo this time around, I added antlers to the "M" logo. C&C appreciated! Another AL West team will be up soon.
