  1. I’ve always liked the white nameplate on the orange jersey, and there was even a couple of games in the 70’s to give it historical precedent. But the black nameplate is terrible. The plain black lettering would have been a better choice, or even an orange nameplate would have been more aesthetic.
  2. I absolutely love the hockey sweaters you came up with for these identities! The Minnesota sweaters are especially phenomenal! Only a couple of tweaks on those, and I guess I don’t know how much you know about traditional hockey aesthetics, but white jerseys typically have white socks to match. And socks usually have stripes to not look like practice socks. Teams also generally wear the same colored breeders for the home and road, and typically don’t wear a white/light color. And the captains patches usually go on the opposite side of the chest, so the left side haha. But all of your identities are just so, so good, and I’d love to see a full hockey league from you!
  3. How about the St. Paul Saints for the Wild? They’re even closer than all of the other 4 teams you mentioned. And the Wild play in the same location as the Fighting Saints of the WHA once did
  4. Minnesota Superior feels on par with Minnesota Wild, and it’s definitely the best of those names, but not great. I kinda don’t mind it though for Lake Superior, but at the same time, why did every single team go with a weird, non-plural name? That’s just kinda ridiculous
  5. The Wild have had matching home and road sweaters since 2017 when they introduced the current green Adizero sweater. It matches just as well as the Hawks, Rangers, and even a little better than the Habs. The Hurricanes on the other had. Have 3 jerseys of various striping patterns and styles. They feel way less coherent than the Wild or any of the other teams I mentioned. (And geez, how many times is this discussion going to keep coming back up?)
  6. I really am not a fan of the All Star Game logo this year. It looks like a Carl’s Jr/Hardee’s logo. Definitely not fitting for Toronto, the hockey-mecca of the world… And those Bruins brown and cream alternates are really nice!!
  7. This is a good look for the Gophs. I really loved the previous home sweaters, but didn’t really care for the road and gold alternates. These are pretty nice all around, and really puts the gold in Golden Gophers on the road. And I love the fact the Goldy is making his debut as the main crest for the first time for the Men’s team! Such a fun logo
  8. Yeah that’s kinda what I was thinking. Although ironically the Gophers used that striping style first…
  9. Looks like the Gophers might be releasing some new sweaters? I guess I’ll hold my thoughts until I see them, because I love the current white sweater for the Gophs. But hopefully there’s a gold third here with a maroon shoulder yoke, just like the Casey Mittelstadt-era gold alts.
  10. I know Kaprizov is 97 for the same reason, as well as Crosby. And any kid born in 99 has to use a different number for their birth year in the NHL (and just across hockey in general)
  11. But the Edmonton Mercurys wore canvas gloves and breezers right? The Oilers set is trying to go for that 40’s-50’s aesthetic, and the canvas gear works really well for that. It probably would have been fine with blue, but the canvas color doesn’t look out of place for an aesthetic that actually had that.
  12. Those games are gonna look great! It definitely seems like the Wild planned to wear these against teams with solid, classic sets, so that the matchup will be really nice. Glad that someone is on our side (the uni-nerds) in management there, vs just picking random games for them
  13. Wild make the North Stars look their third officially. I love the State of Hockey patch! The captains’ patches are a nice touch too
  14. I’m glad they’re going back! I always liked the two sideways logos for the Flyers over the big logo. The Redline just cut through in such an odd way vs other teams. (I even think the Habs look better with a large logo vs this style. )
  15. I mean it kinda makes sense. A persons chest and back blocked by a single number would probably make them appear slimmer, where someone with two numbers would appear wider. Kinda like the vertical pinstripes are slimming but horizontal stripes are widening.
  16. I can understand this as well. Brighter colors are definitely coming back full swing for sports, but I think it would be a shame if the Wild did make the North Stars look the full time look. I love the current forest green, red, and cream color scheme. They’ve had these colors all 23 years they’ve been around, and while the N-Stars look is a good alternate that honors Minnesota hockey history, I think it’s best kept as just that, an alternate.
  17. This is a bad take… The game definitely isn’t the rough and tumble 70’s anymore, (or even the 2000’s) but to simplify the talent, finesse, and speed of today’s game to just a skate and shoot game is ridiculous.
  18. Haven’t the Hurricanes also had issues with affiliates as well? I thought they had something good with the Checkers, but then that went south. Didn’t the Checkers have all sorts of issues with the Hurricanes and their “needs”? So a Hurricanes-Chicago Wolves affiliation relationship is like a worst-case scenario. A heavy-handed NHL club which has already dissolved a few affiliations within the last couple of seasons, and an AHL club known for trying to be a pro-team, rather than just a farm team…
  19. FIFY…Yeah this only applies for the PJ Fleck team on campus. The rest of the programs use gold pretty heavily. The hockey teams both wear gold buckets (which is a really underrated look IMO)
  20. I absolutely love the Saints! That St. Paul script is beautiful too!! The City of St. Paul used to be called Pig’s Eye, after a guy with the same nickname. He was a rough guy who ran I think a whiskey distillery out of a cave close to downtown St. Paul today. And people wanted it changed to something nicer, and a priest has started a small church of St. Paul nearby, so St. Paul was chosen. The modern day AAA Saints have played up the Pig angle for a while with all sorts of gimmicks, including a mascot named Muddonna, and a live pet pig that gets named each season.
  21. Minnesota is a little disappointing after some of your other fantastic concepts here. The double green could work if there was more red in play in the striping pattern. I’m also not a huge fan of the greened-out shoulder patches, those would be much better just being cream. I do love the collar inserts on all three jerseys tho!
  22. Are these additions to the B1G just for football, or the entire athletic departments?
  23. I do really like the Kelly green for the Eagles, but sheesh do these jerseys suck. The helmet is absolutely beautiful, but I hate how the jerseys have black trim on the numbers, but no silver anywhere, and then it’s all shoehorned together on the pants. I love the shade of green, but that’s about it. If they ever go back to Kelly full time, they need to resign every from the neck down
  24. I think the Canucks should drop the Orca and use the new SiR full time
  25. While watching the Twins-Mariners game in Minnesota tonight, the guy sitting right behind home plate is wearing a Buffalo Bills cap. Just super random lol
