  1. Unless they sell their soul to the Saudis (and alienating their entire fanbase) it seems like a longshot. They would also have to compete for elite level players and they don't have the cash (or the markets) to convince Neymar or M'bappe to play in their league when either one of them could end up signing with either LA teams or either New York teams in MLS if they ever chose to.
  2. This: USL set to vote on promotion/relegation in August - source - ESPN Has led USL fans on Reddit thinking USL can compete with MLS.
  3. The USFL has said that they will resume the hub format in 2024, with adjustments. This could mean that there will be a 5th hub next year, possibly New Orleans (since I think that is the easiest to strike a deal with Tulane) with the Breakers and Gamblers playing out there, leaving the Showboats all by themselves at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium (which I think is a good thing). So do we suspect that in terms of Canton they will play the whole "Canton is part of the Greater Pittsburgh Area" thing again as they did this year or does Canton finally get a team of their own?
  4. Fun fact: the Mavericks original owner and founder Don Carter was the first to be handed the Larry O'Brien Trophy by David Stern when the Mavericks won the 2011 NBA Championship.
  5. Yesterday, he won the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest for the 16th time consuming 62 hotdogs. Any thoughts on this? Is it the continual downfall of America that we put this guy on a pedestal alongside actual athletes? Is it an impressive feat? Or do you not care at all? I tend to fall in the latter two categories. I don't care about that stuff, but winning it 16 times is quite impressive.
  6. Unlike in DC, both the Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks are paying for renovations to their current place, the American Airlines Center rather than asking for a new arena (although Mavericks owner Mark Cuban did say that the Mavericks could consider a new arena in the heart of Dallas if Texas ever passes casino gambling).
  7. The Hub format for 2024 is likely because they couldn't find homes for the Maulers, Generals, Stars and Gamblers. He said "with adjustments" so it could easily be 5 hubs, with one of Detroit, Canton, Memphis and Birmingham having only one team and a new hub somewhere else (such as Tulane with the Breakers and Gamblers).
  8. Miami is reportedly focused on a Damien Lillard trade.
  9. Is it wrong that I had never heard of either of them?
  10. It comes mostly from USL fans on Reddit who hate the MLS and everything it stands for and praised the San Diego Loyal for not selling their soul to go the MLS. Realistically, the USL has neither the cash nor the markets to compete with the MLS. It's the USL's Women's League (the USL Super League) that wants to compete with the NWSL for D1 Status.
  11. Jamaica's performance hopefully shows that lacrosse isn't the "elitist" sport a lot of people think it is.
  12. Those six are: - Bettmanville, Arizona - Bettman Township , Arizona - La Cuidad Gary Bettman, Arizona - Gary Bettman Village, Arizona - Bettman, Arizona - New Bettman, Arizona
