  1. Carolina, too, also doesn't really look like a 90's team.
  2. I'd imagine Sunset Boulevard has something to do it, but yeah LA does have a lot of palm trees.
  3. The franchise is nearly 25 years old, my dude. I dunno about you, but any team over 20 years old seems like an old team to me. Besides, it seems incredibly closed-minded to say that only teams from a specific time period can look a certain way. That's kinda taking away the fun of sports branding, isn't it?
  4. Hard disagree there. I think the Wild have done well in getting away from that look in favor of being more traditional; they're in one of the most stable hockey markets in the country, after all, they can pull off an older look. If anything, I think the Panthers should change it up; they're in a market where bright colors are the norm, so they should really embrace that instead of trying to look overly serious and stately; they're an ice hockey team in Florida, not Pickering or something.
  5. That'd mean prying the skate from the fanbase's hands, and we all know how that'd go lmao
  6. The only real gripe I have with the Canucks' look at this point is their insistence on keeping Agency around as their team font; other than that, I think they've hit the perfect balance, and changing again would just be rebranding for the sake of rebranding.
  7. I mean, the difference is that Cincy's helmet completes their alternate uniform's aesthetic in a pleasing manner. The Bears' orange helmet with their alt...well, it just makes them looks a hell of a lot like a mishmash of Syracuse and Clemson. Problem for the Bears using an orange-dominant design is that they have really only two options; they can either look like Syracuse/Clemson...or they can look like Denver.
  8. They have, actually. Admittedly, it was also in the 30's;
  9. The weird thing is Johnny was the secondary on the jersey they're basing off, he was the primary on the design before that. Seems unusual that the Canucks would go that route instead of doing something like a cream Millionaires jersey, which would sell like hotcakes and just as easily fit the RR bill. Hell, do a 70's jersey in the 90's colors if you want to stick to the NHL history of the team.
  10. Good lord, that is hideous. Then again...it is Da Bears, so them :censored:ing up is kinda SOP, isn't it? I guess they're trying to cop the UofI look, but it doesn't work lmao
  11. Each team has 17 games in a season, so I dunno how you think they're gonna get to the point of overabundance unless they either massively increase the length of the season (which I assure you the NFLPA would be pissed about) or have a different jersey for most of those 17 games (which quickly becomes a branding nightmare, another thing the league would not want). The reason other pro leagues can have more jerseys is they have much longer seasons than the NFL; the NBA and NHL have an 82-game season, and MLB has 162 games.
  12. Florida what the :censored: are you guys doing lmao
  13. How is it a bigger waste than them just making a basic orange helmet with the word "BENGALS" put on it your alt just because it's a throwback? At least the white helmet plays into their brand in a fun way and keeps the iconic stripes intact.
  14. Calgary's really about to lose both Gaudreau and Tkachuk lmao
  15. I feel like they wouldn't make an announcement about it before the season if it wasn't a full-time thing. Carolina didn't announce they were bringing in black pants before the season as an option when they did that.
  16. I mean, from what I gathered from social media, most people hated the orange jerseys and wanted them to go back to blue, and the only real split was between navy and royal. That's kinda why they wore their alternates in the playoffs and mothballed the orange jerseys. The push of orange full-time wasn't an organic thing, it was OEG wanting their own version of the C of Red and Winnipeg Whiteout and trying to force it.
  17. Because it's a time-honored tradition for certain teams' fanbases that links their history together? That's like asking why Florida fans throw rats on the ice for winning playoff games. People don't look at a Jets home playoff crowd and quip "look at all those road team fans!" for a reason lol
  18. Oof, Kent Hughes eating a big fat L lmao
  19. *Laughs in Howard Terminal* If MLB's going to Vegas, it's going to be through expansion and not relocation.
  20. I mean, it's also one of the blandest identities in the NFL, is the problem. If the Texans actually had a strong identity of their own, I doubt the demand for Oilers-related stuff would be as high as it is. You can't expect to replace one of the most iconic looks in league history with a brand this utterly milquetoast and expect to supersede it just based on longevity.
