  1. I saw on ProFootballTalk that the Washington Football Team was unable to trademark that name. A it was too generic and B a squatter already applied for it. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/06/20/u-s-patent-and-trademark-office-rejects-first-application-for-washington-football-team-trademark/
  2. All three of them could, conceivably. The Browns could throw back to white helmets, the Packers to brown or metallic gold, and the 49ers to silver.
  3. "too close" does not equal "derivative"
  4. Venue issues, from the sound of things? Anyone know anything about the Louisville Xtreme of the IFL? https://goifl.com/news/2021/6/8/general-louisville-postpones-june-12-game.aspx?fbclid=IwAR3O9E2khjEgCPFwnfPLjAFqBS08PR9apJ9p50RJWLwapHfNtseP4pjVd7M Apparently (and not a surprise given their road game the following week is on), they are behind in paying some bills.
  5. Because there's no need for an alternate that makes you look less than your best for a 17 game season (or a 162 game season, for that matter).
  6. I stand corrected (on the sleeve part ).
  7. Eh, it could. But there's enough history to choose a bad uniform before choosing this matching set of bad uniform and bad history. Besides, those sleeve stripes aren't workable on today's uniforms.
  8. Well, that green is what I jokingly refer to as 7-crayon green (as in the color you get in a box of 7 crayons), not forest green.
  9. Usfl.info is his website where he has cataloged all of his USFL 'stuff.
  10. You're not wrong, but that doesn't mean you're all right. I've been to Nationals Park 4-5 times. have you ever walked from Nats park to downtown DC? I have twice. Once because the game went to extras and the train didn't run when it was over, and once when we decided we didn't want to wait in the lines to get on board with everyone else, who coincidentally left at the same time as us because any mass gathering will take time to leave. Anyway, my views have been made. I'm only making my horse deader. Where mass transit works, fantastic. Where it doesn't work, fantastic as well. I like more grey and less black/white.
  11. Just curious--do you expect 25-30,000 people to magically leave the same place at the same time? Of course we all drove to the game, as there's this institution known as tailgating. I've only known one local to complain about leaving the game. I'm sure there's more. If the team went back to the ceremonial opening and closing of the roof, it might lag the times of people leaving. I guess it's what I expect having grown up going to Lambeau. It's gonna take time to leave. Oh well??
  12. In before the end of the month Patiently waiting for magic to be worked
  13. So where those things don't already exist, who pays for them? And why? Four stadia in Wisconsin come to mind for this discussion. Lambeau Field, Camp Randall, American Family Filed, and Fiserv Forum. I *guess* I could drive to a park and ride a half mile from AmFam to catch a bus. But if I've driven that far, why not go the next half mile? I don't believe there's anything for Lambeau. If there is, how am I going to bring my grill and cooler to tailgate?
  14. Or, get out of the corridor in which you live and see that there are other ways to look at it.
  15. Eh - it was a phrase used widely when I went to school there (UW '87).
  16. The forum header for the General category of the boards reads 'forums_forum_68_desc'. I am pretty sure it used to read something like 'the official forum of the sports ecyclopedia'. Since it no longer is - why not give it a name or get rid of the description?
  17. I would bet that isn't out of the ordinary to even below average. Part of the appeal of Miller Park to Wisconsin residents was knowing the game would be played due to the roof. The five counties of Ozaukee, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Washington and Racine all paid the stadium tax, and all get ticket deals during a particular weekend. I can'find an exact answer to travel time. But I did find a quote from Rick Schlesinger of the Brewers who said the roof made the team a regional draw. I'll keep looking for that answer. Regardless it all affects us the way we choose to be affected. What's normal for one location isn't normal for others. If 40 minute travel time isn't acceptable in a location, then management screwed up with stadium location.
  18. Yeah - no idea how/why I did it. I wasn't in any sort of dark mode
  19. Yup - I just saw where I had effed up! Select Direct Link just like you said
  20. But not everyone shares this feeling. I went to the Trop because I was in Clearwater for a conference in May 2018. I guess it was like a 45 minute drive. No big deal - I have a 35 minute drive to get to Miller Park. Again - that's just me. But also, the dominant highway culture doesn't bother everyone in the same way it seems to bother you. Is the Trop more like an arena than a baseball park? Heck yeah.
