  1. What exactly is concussion protocol? As the CCSLCCTE expert, I am very concerned that the "protocol" consists of Dr. "do you know your own name?" Player: "yes" (yes is an acceptable answer, no proof that he actually does now his name). D : "Do you feel concussed" P: "well, I... uh..." D: (interrupts) "well that's not a 'yes'. OK, you're cleared." Has a player actually missed a game the following week after getting a concussion? Did Tua after his head was essentially used as a basketball?
  2. Would a TSP (or TStP) monogram (Yankees style) work? Brighter colors, and maybe incorporate the stupid "glint" in there? Alternatively, StP could change its name to Tampa Lite, and then we don't have an issue. Alternatively, that area doesn't have a team. That also solves all the problems.
  3. All players wear socks. They're not wearing leggings that also cover their feet, and they're not barefoot in their spikes. They could wear black tights and white socks that aren't ankle socks. I'm not even asking for them to be calf-high. Even crew socks would be fine.
  4. This is a good compromise. There's more white than the standard-issue NFL socks, but the little bit of black at the top goes a long way:
  5. That actually sounds pretty cool.
  6. If they wanted to make a more traditional hat (meaning a simple one or two color monogram without the ray), that STP would work really well. I dig it.
  7. muthafrakin green pants (or in this case, shorts)!!!! albeit with white socks
  8. There needs more 'northwest green' in that jersey. It's a fine design, just a little drab. Hell - get crazy and go with northwest green pants and caps.
  9. I guess I was thinking something more like the Ugliest Bathroom, which to this day I still think was brilliant
  10. omg - that long? It feels like just two years ago they switched (albeit 2020 and 2021 basically don’t exist in my memory)
  11. So basically, "had x happened, team wouldn't have made the playoffs!" (but x didn't happen) "had team not won in the playoffs, they wouldn't even be in the world series!" (but they won in the playoffs) "if run differential meant anything, team wouldn't have even gotten there (but run differential doesn't mean a damned thing). Dude - we get what you're trying to say. I agree that logically, 80ish-win teams aren't championship teams, but this isn't 19 dickety 7, and the format is what it is so I applaud anyone that leverages it to their advantage. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR 5,000,000 POSTS IS THE EXACT SAME THING. You bring nothing but negativity and complaints into every single thread, and frankly, we're all tired of opening a thread just to see the same ing and complaining. I don't think you're a troll, but maybe there's some other things that need to be dug deeper into - but that's not for any of us. You're unequivicobly the least-contributive member of this forum, and we'd all appreciate it if you'd stop with the negaspam (if that's a thing.)* Infrared/mods - can we just give him his own thread? Ignore doesn't work, because someone will quote him, or you'll be tempted to peek at the car crash every now and then. I once got 7 days (without technically breaking any rule... and actually interacting with mods who said nothing about violating any rules) for arguing for just a few hours with people that were complaining about the Patriots beating the Rams and that Matt Stafford sucks. This is far more egregious than that, because it derails nearly every thread.
  12. Untrue. In fact, I'd argue that if you have a "serviceable" qb, you don't pay him, because barring a fluke, you're not going to win a SB with a "serviceable" QB, and paying him is only going to take away resources that you can use to bolster the rest of your roster or sign a true franchise guy (or draft one and hope he pans out). Paying for mediocrity is what buries teams. Just look at the Vikings.
  13. There's something goofy with the coloring on the one on the right (just look at the pants stripes!) but the one on the left is how the OGs looked IRL. The green was darker - especially the helmet. The Eagles I saw last night were not the same as the ones they were throwing back to. The helmet was enough to bring it down. Not that it wasn't a good looking uniform, just not very accurate as far as throwbacks go. And the NOB font is jarring if you grew up with the original.
  14. the guy in the white tights looks like an idiot compared to everyone in proper navy socks/leggings. The red hoops are a nice touch too.
  15. I'd be legitimately surprised - not shocked, but surprised, if the Eagles win tonight. Injuries on the line and defensive backfield and lack of depth aren't a great thing when playing a team that puts up points like the Dolphins. Add in the Eagles shaky playcalling and Hurts' recent shaky decision making, and this has Dolphins written all over it. Eagles have home field going for them, and that's not nothing, but I'm not sure they're the better team at this point in the season.
  16. I'm pro union, but that one needs to be busted up. Too many protections for people who are lousy at their jobs, too many rules barring replays because of their sensitivities, and too many "power trips". The reality is it's probably only 5-10 that are downright awful, but it reflects poorly on all of them. This NLCS has been among the worst playoff series' I can recall seeing. I've been so afraid that players would be ejected or suspended for wanting to choke all of the home plate umps. ALL of them - there hasn't been a single good one in this whole series. How is that even possible? At least Cb Buckner isn't one of them. I'd advocate a player fully assaulting him.
  17. Cool. Maybe he does well and makes 80s cool again for WRs, instead of it being a contest to get the lowest numbers and rob QBs from them. Did I see that kickers are now in the 40s? I vaguely recall seeing the Rams kicker in 42. That's awful.
  18. Their "official" rotation, which they're good at sticking with (with one exception) even in playoffs is: 1. Home Pinstripes (all home night games except Thursdays) 2. Home cream throwback (all home day games except Thursday and opening day, where they wear the home pinstripes regardless of start time) 3. Powder-blue throwback (Thursday, except for opening day if it falls on a Thursday) 4. Red alt (getaway day) (but they've typically skipped this in the playoffs after such a short "road trip". My guess is it was just a slumpbuster last night.) 5. Road gray (all road games except for getaway day) IMO, for playoffs they should only wear home pinstripes and road grays. No alts. And the red alt Sucks. Besides just general suckage, the chainstitching of the wordmark clashes with the flat-red fabric of the jersey and looks awful. EDIT: according to this site, here's the breakdown (can't vouch for accuracy, but seems reasonable) 1. Home Pins: 47x 2. Road Grays: 61x 3. Home Powders: 8x 4. Home Cream: 26x 5. Road Red: 18x (including second game of double headers if it's getaway day) That's based on eyeballing that site (they don't provide totals for some reason) so my math may be off by one or two, and if there were any stupid pandering alts, I just went with what it looked like on the page at a glance. It's funny - I associate them with the home pins a lot more than whatever percentage 47x would be, and same with road gray - I thought that would be closer to 70, not 61.
  19. It really does. I know there's a 2-year process in play so they weren't timed because of Brady leaving, but certainly they knew he'd play no longer than one year in these (if any... which ended up the case). I'm surprised they didn't want more of a clean break from that era, and I assume that's the reasoning for the blue-on-blue primary look. Not the way I'd've gone about it, but I think that's their thought process. Elvis is here to stay, as is navy / red / silver. There's a lot that you can do with that to break from the Brady-era while still looking both classic and contemporary. They simply chose not to, and made the wrong choice.
  20. There was a soccer game there Tuesday, and Temple football on Friday. I'm actually shocked it looks that good. They probably had to resod parts of it too, which would delay the painting*. I suppose they didn't paint the end zones for Temple game, but they still didn't have the usual amount of time to go all out. Really glad they had the time to add the "end racism" message in the end zone. That way, anyone who's racist and watching the game might change their ways.
  21. Sure it did. Maybe the outcome would have been the same, but it always matters. Calling a guy out on a 3-2 pitch that was clearly a ball changes innings. Calling a strike on a clear ball on a 3-1, 2-1, or any count changes the complete approach of the at bat and puts doubt in players' minds as to whether they need to swing at pitches they know are awful. Let's stop defending these breathing cinder blocks. It's one thing for a SS to make a physical error and boot a ball - it's another thing for an umpire to make a non-physical error and botch his job. I don't even care about the on-screen boxes. I know that they're not accurate for various reasons, and that each network has their own version so a strike on one may look like a ball on the other. But I know what my eyes see - and they see that home-plate umpires are basically trash.
  22. Great that the umpires have decided to be centerpieces again. Every one of these pieces of feces has been awful behind the plate. Killing rallies on both sides and keeping batters guessing at what a strike really is. fire these guys and give me a cylon. Maybe break a kneecap or two before firing them. I’ve legitimately not seen worse plate umpiring in the playoffs.
