The San Francisco Giants are going to break this whole even year bulls**t thing and win the World Series over the Boston Red Sox in 7 games. It'll come down to a Pablo Sandoval error in the bottom of 9th.

Pablo Sandoval and Pablo Dandoval on the same team. I bet that's going to confuse the Red Sox TV and radio guys.

I'll differ from the standard here, since hockey is really the only North American sport I know, I'm going to rewrite my preseason predictions based on the first half of the season. Some of them went right (like Nashville as my dark-horse team) and some went really wrong (like Vancouver Bottoming out the conference), but there is still enough of the season left for interesting stuff to happen.

Eastern: Western:

Atlantic: Pacific:

1: Montreal Canadiens - 107 Pts 1: Anaheim Ducks - 109 Pts

2: Tampa Bay Lightning - 105 Pts 2: Los Angeles Kings - 99 Pts

3: Detroit Red Wings - 99 Pts 3: San Jose Sharks - 95 Pts

Metropolitan: Central:

1: New York Islanders - 110 Pts 1: Chicago Blackhawks - 110 Pts

2: Pittsburgh Penguins - 106 Pts 2: St. Louis Blues - 103 Pts

3: New York Rangers - 101 Pts 3: Nashville Predators - 100 Pts

Wild Card: Wild Card:

1: Florida Panthers - 96 Pts 1: Winnipeg Jets - 93 Pts

2: Columbus Blue Jackets - 95 Pts 2: Vancouver Canucks - 93 Pts

-------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------

3: Washington Capitals - 95 Pts 3: Minnesota Wild - 91 Pts

4: Boston Bruins - 93 Pts 4: Calgary Flames - 86 Pts

5: Toronto Maple Leafs - 88 Pts 5: Dallas Stars - 85 Pts

6: Philadelphia Flyers - 85 Pts 6: Colorado Avalanche - 78 Pts

7: Ottawa Senators - 81 Pts 7: Arizona Coyotes - 68 Pts

8: Buffalo Sabres - 68 Pts 8: Edmonton Oilers - 49 Pts

9: New Jersey Devils - 63 Pts

10: Carolina Hurricanes - 59 Pts

Yeah, so the Blue Jackets but together quite the run (like 28-15-4) to make the playoffs, presumably just edging out Washington on the final couple days of the season, while teams like the Maple Leafs and Flames cool down. The Oilers and Canes continue to be abysmal. The Chicago Blackhawks take the presidents trophy, just edging out the Islanders on tiebreakers.

Playoffs:

Round 1:

NY Islanders def. Columbus (4-2), Pittsburgh def. Rangers (4-3), Montreal def. Florida (4-1), Tampa Bay def. Detroit (4-3)

Chicago def. Vancouver (4-0), Nashville def. St. Louis (4-3), Anaheim def. Winnipeg (4-2), La def. San Jose (4-1)

Round 2:

Pittsburgh def. Islanders (4-2), Detroit def. Montreal (4-3)

Chicago def. Nashville (4-3), Anaheim def. LA (4-3)

Round 3:

Pittsburgh def. Detroit (4-1), Chicago def. Anaheim (4-1)

Finals:

Chicago def. Pittsburgh (4-2)

After predicting the playoffs, I decided to simulate the finals on What-if-Sports. The Penguins took off to a 2-0 series lead on the road, but then dropped the next 4 games, letting in 12 goals while scoring just 4.

NFL: Seattle

NBA: It won't be Toronto, but I'm gonna predict Toronto.

CFL: Ok, this one I legitimately believe Toronto will win.

NLL: Calgary Roughnecks

Rochester has won the last three titles but have never been particularly dominant in the NLL regular season - they just made the playoffs and got hot there. Their run of good fortune has to end sometime, and when it does, Calgary (last year's runner-up) is poised to claim their crown, albeit due in part to the misfortune of their closest rivals, the Edmonton Rush, whose coach and GM Derek Keenan has taken a leave of absence from the team to care for his ailing wife.
