Just to let you all know, as much as I'd ove to have the Magic move to Tampa (since I live near Tampa), it probably wouldnt happen since that the owner of the St Pete Times Forum is Bill Davidson (owner of the World Champion Detroit Pistons), and he wouldnt let another NBA team infringe on his territory, so in the condensed version....Tampa will not see NBA till Davidson croaks.

Kabul's in line for a team? AHL, right?

Yeah, with Baghdad. Future candidates will be either Tehran and Pyongyang. :P

hehehe. Pyongyang. Is that the male equivalent of Punani?

Tampa wouldnt have a chance. I think Cincinnati would be a good location. We here in Cincy are big on basketball. Im not quite as sure on Kansas City. They would seem to be a better canidate for arena football than an NBA team.

Arena Football will happen. Neil Smith wants to be in on it. Lamar Hunt and Carl Petersen has expressed some interest. Look for those people to join together in some fashion.

NHL will happen (IMHO). NHL 21 is an organization that is commited to bringing the NHL back to KC. They have been successful with NHL Exhibition games the last few years. AEG has strong ties to the NHL, that helps also.

NBA is possible of course. I would have said they are the least likely till this article came out. I think the Magic are a good fit too move. I've heard maybe the Hawks (doubt it), the Hornets (yeah right). I don't know if any other teams are looking to move.

Ha, Ha, Winnipeg. That's realistic :D:D:D

Those had better be non-sarcastic smileys.

By Christmastime, if the owners and players aren't significantly closer, I can pretty miuch guarantee that the Winnipeg Jets will fly by 2006 or '07.

Only if the Moose decide to change the team's name.

I believe I hear someone screaming "LAS VEGAS!"

That would be me. Las Vegas needs a pro sports team like I need Brooke Burke to give me a sensual massage. And I'm a teenage boy.

The Penguins chances of staying in Pittsburgh are better now than they were just a couple of months ago after the state legislature passed a bill allowing slot machines to be placed at racetracks and other locations around Pennsylvania. The plan is now to build a new racetrack and arena in Pittsburgh. However, Mario is soon going to run out of money and have to sell the Pens to, you guessed it, NHL21.

We (Kansas City) will attempt to get one; NBA or NHL, there's no way we will get 2 teams for the Winter Sports season, if so it will be a minor league.

Well I know there's no way in hell KC will get an NBA and NHL. I still think the NBA would consider other locations a lot more before they would pick KC.

I'll have to agree with bs and his insight!

I hope we get the NHL before an NBA (national boring association) Team.

I haven't followed the subject in Pittsburgh for a while, but one of the casinos proposed were to finance a new arena for the Penguins next to the current site of Mellon Arena. Last time I checked, none of the gambling licenses were officially distributed. But the passage of that legislation alone gives the Pens some hope.
