That's a great idea - you could either do a simple wordmark like the sign has surrounded by a border shaped like the sign, or you could put "GAMBLERS" in the simple font and "Las Vegas" in that "Fabulous" font.

Either way, I think there's a lot to do with this.

As for sport, I'd say Baseball. The 51s won't keep selling merchandise forever, and the team'll be looking for a new identity soon.

Very nice, but while we're critiquing......the star on the chip kind of throws me off. Maybe more points on the star like a starburst (see Welcome to Las Vegas Sign above). Also, I'd be careful leaving this up without some kind of protection (watermarking, etc.) because, and don't take this the wrong way, it's meant as a compliment, it's good enough for a logo pirate to steal.

I say keep the star the way it is. I can clearly see that it's a star and I don't think it's thrown anyone else off. Keep the chip the way it is but make your black outlining more believable when you take a closer look at it. From there all you have left is the text that looks sort of similar to the sign. If think if you did all of that you would have a awesome logo! Great job so far man.

One thing on the chip - you need to work on the perspective a bit more. There should be a short edge (thickness of the chip) between the tops of the two circles and another between the bases... not just one circle on top of another.

I may be just be being picky here but I think you should put the white stripes going down the side because pretty much all poker chips used in casinos or what have you have the stripes going down the side, too.

it looks great either way, though.

idk man, the lights make it kinda busy as is. so i think i will just keep them as two logos, and the one will be a wordmark as well...maybe...idk. my brain hurts. i dont have illustrator for a few days so i cant work on it.
