Is it possible that Washington DC's association with the color red predates some two year old expansion team and that not everything is about some mediocre soccer team from St Louis, a city that most people in DC spend zero time thinking about?

Before you get unnecessarily snarky, maybe do some research and see that City Red specifically references Pantone 1925, which DC's is very very close to, if not an exact match, when put next to a pms 1925 swatch in Illustrator. This particular color is not widely used across sports, so yes, when another team uses it or a shade extremely close to it, it's a little noticeable. The initial post was a little tongue-in-cheek, but you clearly like to take things personally. I believe we have another addition to the PTW list.🤦‍♂️

(And the "mediocre team" quib is really funny when coming from a fan of a team that no longer exists)

The best part of choosing a soccer crest profile pic based on liking the design on a board that's all about logo design even though you've never supported the team or even been to the city, is people trying to dunk on you by taking shots at a team you have zero connection to...

Anyway, next door in Canada... decent name, not a great crest

Definite PTW.

Best logo from the TST 7v7 tournament?

Tough to beat "Aguero Team"...

Probably the best non team related logo, but it's also miles more superior than Concafa FC. Unfortunately they're wearing Man City uniforms instead of their own.

Pretty generic and uninspiring but since this is the lower divisions at least it clear's the low hurdle of "wasn't designed by the owner's nephew"...

tappan zee bridge for reference

I instantly thought of the Washington Commanders' W rather than the Tappan Zee Bridge.

Also, this description of the club on X is stupid, "Westchester’s first homegrown professional sports franchise, coming in 2025 to USL League One."  Westchester already has the Flames in USL's League Two.

USL League 2 is a pre-professional league. As the Westchester Flames website states, "League 2 franchises continue to provide the elite amateur player the opportunity to train and compete at the highest level while maintaining their collegiate eligibility." That being the case, USL League One's Westchester Soccer Club is Westchester County's first homegrown professional soccer franchise.

Given that the NBA D-League / NBA G League's Westchester Knicks are owned and operated by the NBA's NYC-based New York Knicks, and Major League Rugby's Rugby New York called stadiums in the NYC boroughs of the Bronx, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Queens - as well as Jersey City, Hoboken, and Harrison, New Jersey - home before settling on Westchester County's Mount Vernon Memorial Field as a permanent facility in 2023, I guess one could also say that Westchester Soccer Club is the county's first homegrown professional sports franchise of any kind.

Thanks for explaining the contrast between League One and Two. It's funny that specifying the Knicks play in the city is necessary. I'm still skeptical about claiming "first homegrown professional club" until we see actual player results.
