It would probably stun some people, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Seattle win today. Niners D doesn’t look all that sharp (the rain isn’t helping) and Purdy has thrown some miserable looking ducks so far. I think people are overestimating what this team is capable of. Edit: Aaaand now Seattle has the lead 2 hours ago, Rockstar Matt said: I understand that was Purdy's first ever drive in the playoffs, but that whole series showed why he's going to be the reason that the 49ers don't win a championship this season. That should have been a pick-6 at the end of it. The knock on him coming out of college was that he had basically no arm talent and that was evident on that drive. What's going to happen when San Francisco finally plays a team that has a defense capable of slowing down that potent running game? When a defense is good enough to force Purdy to make plays downfield? I think people trying to say he'll be the starter next year are getting a little too caught up in the moment. A healthy Trey Lance would make this Niners team the runaway favorites, IMO. 1 hour ago, Rockstar Matt said: Seattle is playing well. Even though everyone would agree on paper that the 49ers are vastly more talented than the Seahawks, it's really damn difficult to beat a team 3 times in one season. Rockstar Matt
49ers are just too good. Too many weapons all across the board. This Purdy overhype I’ve been reading and listening to is confusing to say the least. He’s struggled all game, but threw 3 TD’s to guys open by at least 10 yards so now he’s the second coming of Joe Montana? FiddySicks
I am so damn impressed with Brock Purdy today. Things could’ve gone south so fast for the Niners and him staying poised and calm kept the ship level for them. That’s something you would NEVER see with Jimmy G. Good to see the Niners finally have a QB who can close a game out. Very happy to see my skepticism end up being the wrong instinct. Also, the Seahawks fanbase is the most hilariously clownish fanbase in the NFL. Just melting down now and blaming the refs for their implosion. So happy to see them go away this quickly. 1 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Here’s the thing, though. He’s not been a world beater, but he’s kept his composure, which is something you really haven’t been able to say about a 49ers QB in crunch time in ages. Kaepernick is probably the closest, and his situation was a bit different. Absolutely no chance Jimmy G would’ve done that IMO. He would’ve hucked up a few ducks for picks and that probably would’ve been it. 2 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) I think you've turned on every team in the league in this thread; not sure where that puts you. The Hawks have a legit gripe on one of those ineligible men downfield penalties, but that's it. Otherwise, they're responsible for their own misery. Also, Seahawks fans shouldn't be too quick to complain about reffing. Last week against the Rams was a gift. 4 1 Quote 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags

Come out flat, make straight up boneheaded decisions both on the field and with your coaching, lead most of the game, and then trail at the most inopportune times. Wash rinse repeat. Niners have to make some coaching adjustments (which I’m not confident they have the ability to do), and Purdy has to outplay Geno Smith (which I have even less confidence in) or this is going to be yet another very frustrating end to a promising season for the Niners. 5 2 2 Quote All roads lead to Dollar General. FiddySicks
Hawks ended up kinda falling apart there at the end, but you can’t not be impressed with what this team has done this season all things considered. I have my opinions about the fanbase, but this really is a very well run organization. I can’t imagine how Russell Wilson must be feeling about all of this. This all really couldn’t have gone any worse for him (outside of getting g paid the big bucks). Rockstar Matt
1 minute ago, oldschoolvikings said: I don’t think it matters. But do you think they’re up by four touchdowns because Purdy sucks? No, it's because the 49ers as a whole have an outstanding team and coaching staff. I originally stated Purdy is the reason why they won't win the Super Bowl. I'm extremely envious of Kyle Shananhan's ability to scheme his top players open, so open that a 7th rd rookie QB can have success. So I don't see where I was wrong with my original statement. 1 minute ago, FiddySicks said: Here’s the thing, though. He would’ve hucked up a few ducks for picks and that probably would’ve been it. See, I agree with this. His composure has been good. He's been able to get through his reads and make the correct throw. This is why, IMO, the offense is better with Purdy than it is with Bonky G. He keeps the offense in check, and more often than not, makes the right decision for the offense. Bonky G, for whatever reason, would be doing what Purdy is doing now but then out of nowhere decide he's Mahomes and try to force a throw that he had no business throwing, or get so fixed on this primary read he'd throw it regardless if it was the right decision. Helps too that Purdy is more athletic than Bonky G. He's thrown a few ducks tho and a few passes that should have been picks. Seattle wasn't good enough to capitalize, but will he get away with those throws against a Cowboys or Eagles defense who were the top 2 teams in creating turnovers? Or the Bills in the Super Bowl? I think San Francisco is talented enough to reach the Super Bowl, which is why I picked them, but I'm just pushing back against this notion that he's the reason why the 49ers won this game (not so much here though, I've heard this moreso elsewhere). 2 Quote Cowboys - Lakers - LAFC - USMNT - LA Rams - LA Kings - NUFC
Kooky01
Welp, can't say i'm surprised with how this one turned out. Congratulations to Brock Purdy and the 49ers on a nice win and best of luck in round 2. As for Seattle, nothing to be ashamed of this season, y'all exceeded all expectations and Geno Smith should win comeback player of the year. Agreed. Anyone who says they picked this team to go to the playoffs back in the preseason is either lying or is the most delusional Seahawks fan in existence. Did anyone think Geno Smith was capable of what he did this season? Again, for anyone who says yes, see my previous comment about the playoffs. This team came out of nowhere and made the playoffs in a season when everyone was expecting them to win maybe 6 games. And now they have the #5 pick in the draft. The future is bright in Seattle. 3 Quote All roads lead to Dollar General.

Looks like we're going to find out. In Purdy's defense, teams miss on QBs all the time. The kid may, in fact, be every bit as good as he's looked. If we're judging him on "ducks that should have been picks", I think we may be setting the bar a tad too high for a 7th round draft pick. Is he the reason the Niners are winning? Not entirely, but he's a certainly a big part of why they're not losing. This may say more about "Bonky G" (Love that name. Well done.) and Lance than it does anything else, but in my opinion, Purdy is the best QB the Niners have and it's not particularly close...as of right now, anyway. 3 Quote All roads lead to Dollar General.
