Man, for as terrible Westbrook was for the Lakers, he's been brilliant down the stretch for the Clippers and won them this game.

Wow.

That is also exactly why my head went with Lakers in 6 for this series...Memphis has no real defensive presence under the rim, or any size to go up against him. That plus them getting hot at just the right time—and oh yeah by the way LeBron—is a recipe for disaster. And it was.

I can't trust an outsized team that doesn't believe in 3 pointers and is too dependent on an outdated style of ball (all bigs, no perimeter shooting)

LA is basically like that Horford/Embiid 76ers team: TallBall

He's a much better fit for the Clippers. Didn't help that the Lakers were asking him (because they needed it) to do things he just isn't good at anymore, but he stepped up tonight. I'm happy for him.

Speaking on the Lakers, it was awesome to see the superstar duo of Reeves and Hachimura seal the game just as everyone predicted...

More seriously, Austin was sensational in the 4th quarter. He's been a good closer ever since he was inserted into the starting lineup and that continued today. In his first ever playoff game and he delivered when the team needed it the most. Unbelievable performance. AD was phenomenal defensively today too, but the Lakers will need him to be a little more aggressive offensively going forward and the Lakers will need to formulate a plan to slow down Jackson.

I really hope Ja is good to go for the rest of the series, don't want any excuses if the Lakers win this series. That said, if Ja isn't healthy enough to play, this series is over.

EDIT: Forgot to add, anyone see Booker at the end of the Clippers-Suns game? Got blocked by Westbrook and Russ ended up throwing the ball off of Booker sealing the game, but Booker didn't notice it because he was too busy complaining to the refs that he was fouled (which he wasn't). He has such a poor, loser mentality for a "superstar", too worried about a non-foul instead of playing winning ball.

I feel rather confident in stating he'll never win a championship being one of the main guys on a team. Too concerned about getting his instead of doing whatever it takes.

That's been Booker and the Suns for years now. Loser core of stat queens that don't want to do the dirty work, only ascended to relevancy when they got Chris Paul (who's a dick), then when that sputtered out this year they traded the farm and gave KD the frontrunning internet troll a free bailout from the fire-hosing :censored: monsoon in Brooklyn that he orchestrated in the first place. What a nauseating team to potentially have holding up the trophy. I'd be overjoyed if the Clippers took them out.

No 7 seed has made the Conference Finals since the 1987 Seattle Sonics.

No 7 seed has won a series in the best of 7 era other than the 2010 Spurs.

The Lakers have history against them but then again this is not your normal 7 seed.

Since the ASB, the Lakers' record was 16-7, or about a .700 winning percentage. That also includes a boneheaded loss against the Mavs and another against the Rockets.

Over the course of a season, that's 57 wins.

You're right that they're not a traditional 7 seed, and I agree history is against them. I think the Clippers have their number, and if LAC gets past Phoenix and if PG comes back, and if Russ is happy in this role and doesn't ever shoot, the Clippers feel like the favorite.

I also don't trust LA to get past Golden State or Sacramento, and I also think the Memphis series isn't in the bag either.

However, this is the deepest team LeBron has played on since 2020, with the key difference being this group is a lot younger.

Warriors always play sloppy, lazy basketball, but bail themselves out when they flip that switch they always flip. But this time around their depth is pretty short and their bench players are kinda really bad. Im really starting to wonder if they can find that switch this time around. The Kings look fantastic and their head coach is intimately familiar with this team and their bad habits. This may all ultimately be a mirage in the end and the Kings will do Sacramento things again, but so far you have to be happy with how they’re playing if you’re rooting for the Kings.

The Warriors are like 2-40 on the road this year (not that bad, but close enough), so it's not a complete surprise they're looking at starting this series 0-2. They're a completely different team at home, and if it comes to a game 7, I still like Golden State.

That said, this core -- Steph especially -- has played essentially an entire extra season and a half over the past 8 years. Eventually, all those extra games catch up on you.

EDIT: JFC. Draymond just stomped on Sabonis' chest. Rasheed Wallace had neverending techs for far less.

I dunno a flagrant 2 when Sabonis was legit holding his foot is a bit much, but it’s Draymond. He’s not going to get the benefit of the doubt there, nor should he. It it what it is.

Holy hell this has been a fun series so far. De’Aaron Fox is having his moment and I’m pretty happy about that.

Warriors just look bad, no doubt, but credit to the Kings. They look like what the Grizzlies talk about being.

Warriors look tired, Kings are young and exciting, Draymond is trash.

Get Golden State out of here. We need to collectively move on.

Every dynasty ends eventually. We could be headed into a Era of the NBA where we get a different champion each season for awhile.

The longest stretch in NBA history without a team winning 2+ championships in 5 years was from 1976-80: Boston, Portland, Washington, Seattle, LA.

We have a chance to do it again this year, given that the last four were Toronto, LA, Milwaukee, and GS.
