andrewharrington
the red carpet has been unrolled for my newly unified freelance identity, tempest, with a username change and all. (the artist formerly known as fuzzlewigg) i created the icon before i chose the name, without realizing that it is, in fact, T shaped. lucky me i suppose. anyway, this is both for me to let everyone know about the anme change, and for you guys to let me know what you think of it? FiddySicks
pretty cool...but whats a tempest?i know its by coincidence, but your logo reminds me of mine:a tempest is a strong, mostly tropical storm, i think. i had to look that one up about a week ago for a project. but i also remember something about how snow could be involved. im to lazy to go look

slapshot
Your tempest logo looks like logos for Travelers Insurance (or is it citi now?)
andrewharrington
citi is a big credit company, and an umbrella rings a bell, but i dont know what it looks like off hand. i tried to clean up my old umbrella logo, but it wasnt working for me, so i used a photo of a real umbrella to make the icon.it is kinda similar to yours aao. i think the layout is playing an illusion. its the kind of layout that would be appropriate for say, the return address on an envelope i suppose, and its a strong, clean layout that i am quite fond of and use often for correspondence/stationery packages and things like that. i also have the letterhead style logo with the icon centered over the name. you probably have one of those too. yes a tempest is a violent storm, hence the umbrella to shield one from the storm. rain reference, kinda abstract, but its there. theres my explanantion of the package

rtrich11
Tempest was an awesome video game in its day. So Pantone, what are Tempest's powers? It looks like Aquaman is hanging out with him.
andrewharrington
just a slight update. i was not happy with the overly used "design studios" moniker. i really dont like how it sounds. its been finalized to "design house," and im happy now. AAO
how about just design or design group?
andrewharrington
i never thought of group, but just plain design crossed the ol' mind, and i didnt like it so much. i like the warm fuzzy feeling house gves me, and i dont see the term design house that often, so i ran with it, and im satisfied, for now. there are lots of possibilities to exhaust, as youve probably figured out having a simpler logo now.
