I believe the only logo that was stolen was the old shield logo.This one - I think - was part of the original logo set, but when it came to coming up with a new logo, the owners wanted to have a Raven head logo that 1) had more Purple in it, and 2) had a "B" to represent Baltimore. This one - in their minds - wasn't something that could just work on its own.Personally, I think they should have just tweaked this logo a bit and used it. Probably so as not to exclude Washington fans, though I never understood that line of thinking with any team that does it, because it's not as if I would be like "what? Baltimore on road jerseys? They're excluding me!
