mcoll86 Posted July 8, 2005 Share Posted July 8, 2005 i wasnt trying replacite yours exactly. i was doing one that a bit of the idea of yours but was taking into acoout the threds thoughts, and what i liked, and what i know i could do or couldnt do for the game, plus the materials i had to work with know how the will light in the game. its version keep at that in mine. one of the thnd i havet master yet that dfferers from yours is i cant pipe stripe in your concept that goes around the neck and down the front. i just did a version given what been in this thread. short of that piping i could do one exactly, if asked, in the futre, but for now this what went with. we'll see what feed back happans. Now dont get me wrong, its a really nice concept, but other than recoloring some logos and re arranging some other stuff, what exactly did you do? was it your intent to just recolor and rearrange? If it was then you hit the nail on the head, thats for sure. But, its not really that much of a change from what their last set was. Not tryin to rain on your parade, just giving some honest C&C. Take the T-Bird logo, shred it into pieces, and toss it into the fireplace. seriously, i've never met anyone who liked that logo. Artmanc3po Posted September 20, 2006 Share Posted September 20, 2006 I never saw this concept because I didn't join till Sept. 05, so I'm glad it was brought up.I bought a white panel front Blue Jays cap in the CN Tower gift shop in the mid-80s when I was in town visiting an aunt and uncle. They took me to Exhibition Station to see Reggie, Rod and the Angels take on the Jays. Great cap, as was the Joe Carter solid blue, as well as, to a lesser extent maybe, the Clemens cap.After that, what were they thinking. I never liked the Muscle Jay, thought it looked Triple-A or lower, and I really, really don't like the current logo or set--a complete departure from everything that was great about prior Jays sets.This concept looks good in some ways, especially because I'd rather see the Jays change than about any other pro sports team. I think the maple leaf needs to stay red, though, for patriotic reasons. The old numbers were great, and I understand from the thread that he originally would have put them in if he had that font.Main point: the Jays need to go back to their winning look, or something in that general direction. Seems to me their current look is more derided here than any other, with the obvious exception of the Buffaslug.Is there anything on the horizon for a change of identity for the Jays?
