kingssss
I knew the O's would start to slip soon, but i didn't think they would start playing like this. Theyre the most depressing team right now. Mazzilli Dismissed by Orioles

HatCityEnforcer
Pure panic move by Angelos and Co.Maz wasn't a bad manager (as proven earlier in the season when he was getting the most out of a roster that expected to finish 3rd at best), just kinda surprised the O's decided on this course of action... gashouser27
Count on Angelos to mess things up. This is a real step back.A month ago they were looking good and talking about picking up Burnett

Swiss
Bad move of Angelos.Raffy's steroids + Washington 57W 50L + Orioles' free fall in standings = KABOOM! It's great to be young and a Giant! - Larry Doyle
Seadragon76
Nice equation, but you forgot one teeny little part to it.Raffy and his 'Roids + The Nats in Playoff Contention + The O's falling faster then Kristie Alley on the Jenny Craig Diet + The Yanks and Sawx returning from the dead = Buh bye, Mazzilli
Gamingboy
I, being an Orioles fan and watching 90% of the games, like this move, but don't like the timing.I like the move because Mazzilli is unpopular in the club house from what I've read, fails to use the bullpen properly and rarely argues calls. O, and he is a Yankee sympathizer. Grrrrrrr. But I don't like the timing. What, does the lawyer-who-must-not-be-named want to make the team look even more like the train-wreck-falling-down-a-volcano of a team then it already is? Insert Witty Signature Here. kingssss
Perlozzo's first game and the Orioles beat Anaheim 4-1 and stop their losing streak at 8 games. O's need to start makin a run for it. Take it game-by-game and you never know.
NJTank
Its not Maz's fault the Orioles have no pitching or nthe Nevin and Burket deals fell apart or Raffi Palmeirio has more Juice then Welchs Grape JUice.I predict Maz end up beack with the Yankees and becomes a cnaidate to one dasy replace Joe Torre. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com

marlinfan
Peter Angelos is the one to blame in this situation. Last month he was getting AJ Burnett and Mike Lowell for crap. If he had opened his wallet the team wouldn't have sank.In the month of July:AJ Burnett: 3-1/3.79 ERA/39 K in 35.2 innings.Mike Lowell: .322/.365/.494, 9 2B, 14 RBIHis swing have improved every game. His stats have also improved each of the last 3 months.Angelos is the one who should be fired. 1997 | 2003
