Shark - Excellent work on the name, logo, and uniform concept for Reno!  It's perfect for a minor league team.  I like the incorporation of silver.  Did you do that because silver was once a Niners color?  

MJR - Props to you    on the Trenton uniforms.  I like the striped sleeves, although given the fact that sleeves seem to be slowly working their way toward Austrailian footy jerseys, I'm not sure how much of the stripes would really show on the field.

and i have a ques- do they havta have 2 alts or can we just have home/away?

sounds like you REALLY don't want to do an alt.  rest assured snowy, alternates are optional...very optional.  i'll reiterate why i am allowing two, because some minor league baseball and hockey teams will trot out in special holiday jerseys (see teh bakersfield condors' bajillion holiday getups for an example) and others who don't use their parent club's colors or uniform style might have an alternate letting em take the field in garb similar to the big club(example, Grand Rapids Griffins).

and now, my second critique, thankfully i'm thinking clearly as i can and there's more than one.  all i gotta say regarding both is the production is awesome, and the logos were well thought out (hey i did ask for two teams)...so here's the individual critique:

mjrbaseball-you chose the jets as the parent club, as i see with the jets logo at the neck nfl europe style.  although this encounters the problem of looking out of place on the bombers, everything else about that set is, how shall i put it...the use of items on the jets' existing logo was masterful.  the colors used for the bombers uniform are pretty much appropriate for the name, as is the font used, similar to real madrid's font from last season but better executed.  the biplanes' sleeve striping is, as others would say, something i would probably do...thankfully you didn't go to the broncos' 1961 garage sale and teh rest of the uniform is pretty simple, what i would expect for a low minors team.  

shark-like jkrdevil, above the call of duty with both niners farm teams using their existing colors, though i see you did add silver for the CardSharks...a combination of sort of looking back at the Niners' proud history(as they briefly used silver) and also necessity.  note to aspiring logo designers-THIS is what a logo looks like when it's well thought out and the colors complement each other.  The Sharks' uniform, IMO, also uses silver well in its scarcity.  The SJ Blasters, didn't blow my mind but a good style to use nonetheless.  another something i would expect for a minors team.

I wasnt happy with how the shark's teeth looked so I fixed them.

I used silver mainly because I wanted a fourth color used in moderation to offset the other colors and to give it a unique identity while still tying into the 49ers. Also I was playing on the "gold and silver" thing that Reno is known for. (Nevada is the "silver state" but ironically it leads all the states in gold ore mining, also a lot of casinos in Reno use either "gold" or "silver" in thier names)

I really wasnt thinking about the 49ers brief flirtation with silver in the past, but I suppose it works

per custom, as chairman i'm not competing but i do present to you my Chicago Bears farm system. I now present...

Class A: Decatur Bears

hometown: Decatur, IL...the Bears' original home (btw there actually IS a semipro team in Decatur called the Bears, but i have never seen their uniforms so if they look like this, it's by coincidence.) noting that this is Decatur, ILLINOIS cus there is also a Decatur, Georgia. Probably a few other Decaturs lying around, too.

colors: navy blue, orange (chicago's colors)

self critique: i don't have the bears' actual #font so i improvised a bit here with the UK license plate font. other than that and the Bear head-DECATUR slapped on the front it's the bears home and away. I also decided to create two alternates, the 20s throwback-like jersey to be worn for the first home game of every year and a cowboys-like double bear jersey to be worn once a season. the helmet logo could have been better but i didn't have a wishbone D anywhere

and now class B: Kansas Comets

hometown: Topeka, Kansas

colors: orange, indigo, purple, bears navy, bears orange

this turned out much worse than i originally planned....and you'll probably check the sleeves and logo as the main culprits. the logo, for starters, looks like the old devil rays logo (the psychedelic crap behind the ray) and some streaking football met and this is what came next. what the hell was i thinking? and on the primary jerseys, i wanted orange to be the main color. woulda worked out good if i had kept the bears stuff to just the bear head on a sleeve or something. but no, i had to incorporate chicago's sleeves into a jersey where that matched a grand total of nothing. btw the 40 on the bears part of the left sleeves is cus Gale Sayers' nickname was the Kansas Comet. jury's still out on my color choices, this might actually be worse than that chargers set i did (are they still burned in your retina?). The alternates are Bears jerseys and an indigo jersey w/lsu style striping.  that one is my favorite part of the set cus i don't think i forced anything on that one. okay, maybe the front wordmark, but that's it. hope you guys have a good laugh over this one, this seriously sucked, why did i go through with this?

awesome stuff SHB, you've got a real good knack for logo designs, i never really noticed it though, as i maily though of you as a uni-designer thanks to all the x-overs, but you're quite the logo man too  ::  and i'll ask too, is that the font from the show "CardSharks" you used?

Discrim: two factors played a role in my decisions, lisa: only three entries so far, and the fact that some may have slept on their idea a little too long.  two-weekers are a bitch though, cus you usually let em slip your mind until the last minute.  

lisa: okay, and explain how this 'wildcard' will work.  seems like you're making up things as you go along.

discrim: this was spur of the moment, i admit.  i wanted to reserve this for if we had more than ten entries, now seems like a good time to test it out.  people who wanted to enter but were too late for the original deadline can get their concepts in by 10 pm CT tomorrow night, after which no more entries will be accepted for the competition.  anyway, i'm out.  discrimihater...where clear thinking goes to die

alright...i just got back from mos def's block party, that mos gets down yo.  anyway, one hour remains for the wildcard entry deadline...i know stl and snowy were two who meant to compete, anyone else who got something and wants in has til 10 pm central time (1 hour from now), then the lineup is set.
