CCSL Forum makes it big

The May Department Store Company's IT department has blocked access to this very forum over it's network.

This combined with the MLB and NHL vector graphics going missing from brandsoftheworld.com have made for one crappy couple of days for me.

What do they expect me to do while I am at work? Work? :cursing:

I'll still be here to offer my same old opinions and hockey jersey info, just in the evenings from now on.

Poop.

My uncle worked at May Company in St. Louis. It was shut down or something a while back.

They were acquired by Federated Department Stores of Cincinnatti, Ohio (Macy's, Bloomingdale's). The St. Louis HQ of May had a lot of operations that were redundant or just plain unnecessary once Federated took control and there was a substantial downsizing. St. Louis does continue to be a regional HQ for Federated and thus the old May operation does continue here, albeit in a much smaller capacity.

that dumb company is changing the name of Marshall Field's --a Chicago INSTITUTION-- to Macy's

they did the same to Hudson's - a Detroit institution

Over a decade ago, Macy's swallowed up Philadelphia's famous Bamberger's department stores. They may have gotten Gimbel's, but I am not sure... for a store that had its roots in Milwaukee (I think), Gimbel's was HUGE in the Delaware Valley when I was growing up.

These won't be the last time Macy*s swallows up a local institution...

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

Well if its work, one would expect to have to do work at work, otherwise it would be called super happy funtime hour

It's been banned on our schools site - but many sites including ESPN & others. If the title has "sports" in it, then the school district blocks it. I don't blame them, otherwise, it would be Super Happy Funtime 8-Hours a day.

:P The only sports we can get in MoSports (a Missouri High School site) & Yahoo sports.
