HatCityEnforcer
Hmmm....very open ended topic here...might as well give my takes ALL TIMEMLB--The Yankees. No debating this point.NHL--Montreal Canadiens. 23 Stanley Cups for Les Habitants. Very hard to make a case for anyone else.NBA--Boston CelticsNFL--The Niners are relative newcomers to the party, but for overall, my vote goes to the Bears.DYNASTY TEAMSMLB--New York Yankees..and on this one, you can take your pick...the 30s teams with DiMaggio and Gehrig, the 50s teams with Mantle, Berra, and Ford, or the 90s teams with Jeter and Co. Personally, I'll go with the 1949-53 Yanks.NHL--1956-60 Montreal Canadiens. So many great players (Rocket Richard, Beliveau, Geoffrion, Harvey, Plante, etc). Honorable mention goes to the 1976-79 Habs teams and the 80s Oilers.NBA--The Celtics of the 60s. Total and complete domination.NFL--This one is a bit of a throw, but I'm gonna go with the 40s and early 50s Cleveland Browns. They dominated the AAFC completely, winning every title the league had. On joining the NFL in 1950, the Brownies showed they were the real deal by beating the tar out of the 2 time defending champion Eagles in Philly on Opening Night.SINGLE SEASON GREATNESSMLB--Lots of cases here...the 1906 Cubbies, '27 Yanks, '54 Indians, and '98 Yanks are probably the front runners. I'm gonna go with the '98 Yankees personally.NHL--1976-77 Habs. Hard to argue with a 60-8-12 record in the modern era.NBA--1995-96 Bulls. Once again, it's hard to convince me that anyone could be better than a team that went 72-10 over an 82 game season.NFL--1972 Dolphins. Until someone runs the table again like they did, they're the all time greats here. The 85 Bears are close, but that one loss on that monday night in Miami ended the arguement. IceCap
1927 New York Yankees1998 New York Yankees1980-83 New York Islanders1976-79 Montreal Canadiens1985 Chicago Bears agree, well except for the 1928 yankees. however i'm not disagreeing about them either. i just don't know anything about them.also, i would add the 1972 dolphins and the 1948 stampeders to that list. going undefeated and winning it all has to be worth something.NHL--Montreal Canadiens. 23 Stanley Cups for Les Habitants. Very hard to make a case for anyone else.yeah, i agree. but the habs actually have 24 cups, they won one before the creation of the nhl. Yeah, the way they went out in the ALCS was awful. How do you lose the ALCS 4-1 when you have the best regular season record EVER. At least go to 7 games. winghaz
I don't think there's any question as to who was the greatest team of all time.It was the original Dream Team. I mean, look at who was on that team, and look at how they outscored the rest in the Olympics. Now, the group that played the best as a team was also in the Olympics -- the Miracle On Ice team. Those guys were probably the most cohesive bunch that ever played a team sport.
