WideRight
Not that you all would care, but just to get some debate going, and to kill time before a boring meeting. Here are my thoughts on NFL uniforms:NFC WEST49ers-- Leave as is. One of the best updates ever.Rams-- Leave as is. Only possible change is to bring back the triangular blue stripe at top of gold pants.Seahawks-- Convince owners to put white pants with dark jersey and vice versa. Otherwise this one is "Gold, Baby!!!"Cardinals-- I like the update. It is not too over the top but recognizes that very few players actually have sleeves anymore, so sleeve stripes are not gonna work that well.NFC NORTHBears-- Leave as is. A classic. Boring but classy.Packers-- Leave as is. Ditto from Bears line.Lions-- Keep black outlines on logo, numbers but find a better way to use black in all striping. Minimal, more like outlines than an actual stripe.Vikings-- Now that the helmet matches the jersey, there is less to groan about. I like the white shoulder stripe, but only if the NFL can find a way to have them go under the arms like in the old days. If that is impossible then perhaps they should switch to a Texan's style purple stripe. Do the same type of stripe on the purple jersey's but in yellow. Pants are fine. If they must do purple pants, have a stripe which is thin white-thin purple-thick yellow-thin purple-thin white. Putting yellow right next to white doesn't work that well. (think of what the Chiefs do with yellow-white and red on their red pants.)NFC SOUTHBucs-- Love 'em. Leave 'em.Panthers-- Love all of 'em. Maybe reserve the light blue jersey's for night games?Saints-- First, coordinate on one Gold color. Then bring back the Jim Everett period numbers (White with black then gold outlines). I like the no-stripe sleeves with the 2ndary logo (state w/ fleur). My one change might be the pants. Always gold, never black, and with a more traditional Black-white-Black stripe.Falcons-- I am OK with the new jerseys. Again, recognizes that sleeve stripes are just not compatible with jerseys today. NFC EASTRedskins-- Stop wearing all white. That is all. Maybe, just maybe use the script R logo somewhere. Eagles-- Stop wearing the black. Stick to Green and silver emphasis with only minimal black. Cowboys-- Just pick 2 or three colors and use them consistently. That is all I ask.Giants-- Homes are perfect. Aways are a disaster. Too classic. Next we will have Chicago or Pittsburgh go back to striped jerseys, no thanks. What is wrong with red numbers-blue outline and maybe a single blue stripe at the end of the sleeve/shoulder hole. Pants should be the same ones from the Home unis.AFC WESTBroncos-- Keep what they have, wear orange more. I have grown used to them.Chiefs-- Add just a little bit of black outlining. I am not saying they should go nuts like the Eagles with black uniforms, just some outlines.Chargers-- I won't get into the Powder-Navy debate. Assuming they stay dark, the helmet and jerseys are fine. The pants I would change to put a less jagged bolt of lightning on them. Maybe something like the TB lightning with a thick bolt that ends half-way down the thigh.Raiders-- No change necessary.AFC SOUTHColts-- Go back to white facemasks. Again classic can go to far. The uniforms are classics with a white facemask, with grey it is the football equivalent of buying a new lamp and spraypainting it to look "antiqued".Titans-- Uniforms are fine (logo is still a bit lame) but don't do dark with dark and NEVER do dark pants with light blue jersey. Looks like a HS team that forgot their white pants and had to wear the others.Texans-- My only complaint, and it is minor, is that the pant stripes don't work. Why not have white pants with a tapered blue stripe to paralel what is done on the jersey. And then blue pants with a red stripe to be worn with the white jersey. I don't like the wide blue stripe with tiny, teeny, tiny red stripes you can't see on the edges.Jaguars-- Teal jersey-Fine. White jersey with teal number. Teal pants with white. White pants with teal jersey. The black pants, with no stripes and then black socks is HORRIBLE!!!! looks like a ballet class, not a professional football team. AFC NORTHSteelers-- Fine. No changeBrowns-- Never wear those orange jerseys. Only wear the orange pants if Brian Sipe is suiting up.Bengals-- Go back to the Boomer period jerseys but with the new pants and I would be happy.Ravens-- I don't know. I have never liked these. Maybe a whole new set. The helmet is fine, but I would perhaps like to see something similar to the XFL's Chicago Enforcers. (Hey, before you scream at me, the jerseys were pretty nice, the rest of the league was a joke but the Chicago jerseys worked.)AFC EASTDolphins-- Never wear the orange, otherwise ok.Jets-- Sorry new-old fans. I hate the retro logo. I just think that it was lame and cheap in the 60's so they ain't any better now. The uniforms are ok, but can't we go back to the green helmet with the JETS on it? Maybe a compromise (60's unis with 80's helmet?)Patriots-- Go back to the first NEW PAT uniforms with the small logo on the sleeve and the pant stripes that looked like the tapered red and blue logo stripes. Not the side by side red-blue, the red turning into blue swooshes. I love those pants.Bills-- My team. And man do I hate these. I already posted my Bills opinion on another thread, so I won't go into detail. Let us just say that I like Navy with secondary use of royal and red, but not the ridiculous exageration they have now. OK, Rip away. You know you want to.
ShaftDu
Redskins-- Stop wearing all white. That is all. Maybe, just maybe use thescript R logo somewhere.Eagles-- Stop wearing the black. Stick to Green and silver emphasis with onlyminimal black. Skins can't change now. They have been winning all their games in all white .Eagles, I wish they would add a silver pants to their current combo. Get rid of the white pants and go silver like the old days. VitaminD
Eagles, I wish they would add a silver pants to their current combo. Get rid of the white pants and go silver like the old days. I'll drink to that. It'll never happen (midnight green/black is Lurie's stamp on the franchise the way navy blue and minimal gold/powder blue is Alex Spanos's stamp), but I'm all for it. "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.
FUNKAFIED
The 'Skins should use the old spear logo on the maroon helmet and ditch the Indian face. Not that I care about all that P.C. garbage, I just think it looks cooler.
Your Name Here
It's "Mis dos centavos," not "pesos." And the Patriots' uniforms from the 90's sucked. About the only thing that was good about them was that they were blue, not red. Their current uniforms are fantastic.

Your Name Here
I don't quite understand why everyone pines for the silver. It's not like the Eagles used it for that long. I think they didn't add it until 1974.
FiddySicks
I think your idea to have the jets wear the current unis with the 80s and early 90s helmets is a very interesting idea. I think theyd have to update the green color in the helmets because i think that got darker but if they did that id love to see it. I still dont know if itd work, but itd sur be interesting On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) DG_ThenNowForever
I think it would be very funny if the Jets had a throwback jersey this year to their 80s and 90s uniforms. Can you imagine? The Jets going all the way back to 1997? I'm completely in support of that. With any luck, they'd have a new quarterback showing them off. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags

Their current uniforms are fantastic. No, not really. The "futuristic" look is tacky, and the side panels look dumb. That said, they're obviously sticking around. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Since 2001, I look at those uniforms and think "winner." I can't remember when they were introduced, 1999 or 2000. I'm not especially fond of these Patriots, but that has more to do with me being a Bills fan. It's a pretty good update, even if the road uniform looks a little silly. But I would have no problem if most NFL teams updated their uniforms as well as the Patriots have, Elvis helmets or not. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
Michigan Dave
I like the current set better than the 93 version. I was actually a fan of the "double elvis" design for a while. It was a good jersey, for its time. No need to revisit it, though!

However, silver has been part of the Eagles' color scheme (ex., helmet wings) since at least the 1950s (and I believe even during the Steve Van Buren years of the late 1940s, if not since the team was formed, but I don't have any proof at my fingertips).
