Cujo
Still no Art Monk?? What a shame. This was the best WR of his time. Much better in his day than Harry Carson. Good to see Warren Moon get in though. He deserves to be first ballot.

NJTank
John Madden about damn time! He should have gone in 20 years ago. Good to see Carson get in to, he deserved it for a long time. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
TFoA
John Madden about damn time! You mean he wasn't in there until today?! Wow. Anyways, how did Michael Irvin miss out once again? Also, I'm glad that they took into consideration the fact that Warren Moon was a pro QB BEFORE the NFL, probably the best CFL QB there was, due to the fact that the man won 5 straight titles there. FiddySicks
Dammit. Irvin deserves to be in the hall. Who cares about the off the field stuff? Intimidator85
That's quite interesting. No sign of Art Monk. You'd definitely have to consider someone who is in the top ten in all time receptions and receiving yards. Though he didn't play in one Super Bowl and only had one catch apiece in two others, he helped put the Redskins in position to make four Super Bowls. I guess there is still some sort of conspiracy against Monk.Did Madden get in as a coach, broadcaster or contributor? Whatever the case, I think he deserves to get in as all three. You can't deny what he's done in and for the NFL. I credit him for teaching me a great deal about NFL football through his work in the booth when I was very young. It also didn't hurt that he was the second-winningest coach of all time behind Lombardi. I've always said if Bud Grant can get in (he deserves it, too), there should also be a place for Madden. SteveR
Monk didn't even make the first cut from 15 to 10, which is a step back from the past few years when he got to level of six. Anyone know the list of next year's first-time eligible players?

See Red
Did Madden get in as a Coach or as a contributor to the game? Or do they not specify in the NFL?I don't know that what he did as a coach merits Hall of Fame status, only one Super Bowl win and an awful Conference Championship game record. Though he did have the best egular season record ever, I believe. But he certainly deserves in for what he's done for the NFL in terms of being the games face in a way.edit: I will add that Monk got robbed. TBGKon
Thankfully Reggie White got into the Hall, Reggie was a wonderful man who passed on far before he should have. Props to the Voting Committee.
VitaminD
Thankfully Reggie White got into the Hall, Reggie was a wonderful man who passed on far before he should have. Props to the Voting Committee. Reggie would've been a first-ballot lock irrespective of his untimely death. He was a premier D-lineman for over a decade, won a Super Bowl and made a dozen or so Pro Bowls.Monk did get robbed, but it's hard to pick him over anyone in this year's class. Better luck next year, Art. "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.
