Showboating cost US woman gold

I am not in the least surprised by this... after all, aren't most snowboarders nothing but a bunch of egotistical punks?

(yes, there are exceptions to the rule, but this is from observation)

Being from a town where everyone of a young age snowboards to some extent, ive gotta say no. You would be suprized not only the skill and dedication it takes, but also the $$$. If I had to place it, id put snowboarding very high on the difficulty level, above even physical sports like football. Its unbelieveable the work it takes to be even a decent snowboarder.

Who cares? we all showboat in sports especially when u score goals or score a touchdown, the only thing differant is people were watching her and it costed her a medal. I like how people say I hate to be an american when i see someone from our country does something that.... but you didn't do it so no need to say that.

She did it thats all its her fault and she knows it. Its not like the rest of the world now hates the USA just because of that...theres a hell of alot more reason why beside this small thing that happened.

all i have to say is... Who Cares?

Yeah but she deserves to be mocked for it.

Damn right she deserves it. If some 20 year old track guy posed for the camera in a showboating fashion, tripped and fell costing him the gold medal, he would have been grilled.

Better example...if some 20 year old basketball player calls a timeout when his team doesn't have any left, not that it was showboating, just a momentary brain lock, wouldn't he be damn near crucified? Oh wait, that DID happen, remember Chris Webber?

Fair is fair. If you're going to grill ANYONE for a brain lock, then grill 'em all.

Do you snowboard, bucfan? I'd say that snowboarding in general (not half-pipe) is one of the easiest sports to learn. Much easier than skiing. There's a tough couple of days trying to get the hang of it, but once you get it, it's like riding a bicycle.

And lmu, no, not all snowboarders are egotistical punks.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Yeah i do snowboard in fact, a lot. Ill agree with you, initally its fairly easy, but to get realy good at it, like so you can compete, it takes an enormous amount of work, time, dedication, and cash.

And i dunno about it being easier than skiing. I had a WAY harder time with Snowboarding than i did with skiing.

Agreed...at first I thought you were saying it takes a lot of work to be a decent snowboarder in a recreational sense. It does take time and money to be competitive.

Obviously you neglected to read the fine print.

I don't think your disclaimer cuts it. Saying "there are exceptions to the rule" still implies that the vast majority fit within your generalization . . . therefore, you have still made an unfair generalization.

Who cares? we all showboat in sports especially when u score goals or score a touchdown,

The difference is that most of us do it after we score. That way, you can't blow your chance by doing it.

Obviously I'm talking about more people than the "exceptions", otherwise I would have agreed with you.
