That wouldve been cool had they found some way to keep the unobtrusive half of Busch II. Maybee made it into some sort of shopping/Restaruant/parking/museum/whatever area. Ive heard thats what theyre gonna try and do when they build the new Yankee Stadium that is rumored to go up some time within the next decade. Did I miss the implosion, or has it just been hidden from these pictures?I'm by no means an expert at the layout of St. Louis, but I thought the two were in the same area.... In fact, they overlaped... If you went to a game at Busch II last year, you could see that Busch III was half built, and that they were going to have to take down Busch II to finish Busch III. As for an implosion, there was none. Busch III was so far ahead of schedule, they decided to tear it down in traditional wrecking ball fashion. I'm sure some of the St. Louis fans here will have the pics of the overlap, and the tear-down...MooseHere, I think I posted this before, but this is from the Cards website and was in the Media Guide last season. In the 1st and 2nd innings, Cards president Mark Lamping joined the broadcasters and are discussing the new ballpark. As it stands, the upper deck area towards left field is yet to be finish, and Lamping said that they should be finishing installing the seats by the next couple of weeks. By my view, the ballpark looks fantastic, it looks it have some elements of Busch II, like where the bullpen areas are located...they're pretty similar in location. The crowd attendance is pretty big, especially watching two minor league teams play. By my estimation, there's probably a good 30,000 plus tonight in Saint Louis. Soldout in 15-20 minutes in fact. The empty sections weren't sold for this game, and then of course there are the LF upper deck seats that you mentioned that aren't installed yet (that was the plan though--in fact, they are way ahead of schedule on that part).The park looks absolutely gorgeous and the skyline view is awesome. The dimensions are intentionally very similar to Busch II. If it weren't for the brick (which looks great), it'd be hard to tell from any of the field shots that this isn't Busch II. I was there today (pictures soon) and there are seats there. But, there is nothing behind them. No bathrooms, concessions, ways to get there, nothing. I think they are saying June or so.
