gregchait
Ok, this one isn't too original... just a "what if?" for you guys... just reversing the blue and green in the mid-nineties "silver incorporated" jerseys of the Hartford Whalers. I just picked shades of dk. green and dk. blue pantones that I liked... not nessecarily what the Whalers used. I think I still prefer the blue sweater, but this shade of green is really nice, perhaps another NHL team would use it...grcI took this URL down, it's been awhile and I left the other one up. zer0dotcom
I liked the green look opposed to the blue. I'm not sure why, maybe the blue made them look like other teams with dark jerseys, but this looks good
yh
Not sure I'm digging it with blue pants but I like the darker green you've chosen for the sweater. Nice work.

phocused
Gotta keep the blue pants. They'll look that much better with blue gloves.Sharp work, I'd buy it.
Reaper98
I like it and think it would look good with the blue pants, blue gloves & blue helmet along with a change that would turn the grey areas into silver dazzle.
Avenger
I like it.... green is one of my favorite colors, and it definetely works well here.
Puckguy14
Amazing how you switch colors, and it looks great and brings back the tradition of the Whalers! CDunn
Good jersey. Keeping blue pants, gloves, helmet works. The only thing I might do is remove those thin green stripes. they're kind of busying to me.NO SILVER DAZZLE!!
NewYawkSeahawk
Traditional, Classic...I love it... I loved the old Hartford Whalers unis.... it was even my roller hockey team's jersey back in the 90's...Now the closest thing I have to resembling that uniform is the Seattle Thunderbirds jersey!Best Color Combo of all Time... gregchait
Interesting - this is a better response than I would have imagined... - nyseahawk... I'm with you... green and blue, best color combo ever... I miss the old Seahawks and Whalers uni's, they were my favorites... - sabres... I'm with you, those extra green stripes don't seem to translate nearly as well with this jersey.Maybe I'll do a part two without them, maybe even throw in the old shoulder patches of the whale? Those were pretty cool... Thanks for all the feedback...grc
CDunn
Ahh, pucky, wasn't it? Not a good hockey logo, but cool none the less. Gotta love a big smiling whale with "ers" written beside it. I always wanted to see a logo with an actual whaler holding a harpoon or something. That could be cool. But the whale tail should always be the primary. yh
I always wanted to see a logo with an actual whaler holding a harpoon or something. I think that guy you're talking about worked on Long Island for a few years before he got run off. Ok, so he didn't have a harpoon, but let's just say seafarin' men haven't been popular NHL logo subjects.
NewYawkSeahawk
Few years???I think it was one year....I am not an Islander fan but I thought that logo / uniform combination was actually really decent. But all the bandwaggoners here on Long Island felt cause the Isles won 4 cups in a row, that they were some historical team worth saving...The Alternate Lighthouse isnt bad though! www.briandoakes.com
-kj
The Fisherman was eh (mostly because they felt the need to slap ISLANDERS across the front!), but the lighthouse is a terrific logo. Recoloured and put on the front of their current jerseys, it would be fantastic. Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop! gregchait
Man... I'm agreeing with SeaHawk twice in a day... unreal. I think the bashing of those Islander uni's was horrible unjust, the lighthouse logo was phenomenal... I think they just overdid it with the crazy wavy striping and horrible lettering that the jersey entailed, otherwise it was great.Anyhow, per some of the suggestions above, I took the green jersey that started this thread and cleaned it up a bit in my style. I think all too often people try and go overboard. There's nothing that will really stand out and grab you with the concept below, it's just simple clean in colors that are underused in the NHL.e-mail me to see it

-kj
Actually, I'd prefer the first one over the second; the grey really adds to it.The one thing I don't like, but I'm not sure there's any better way of doing, is the green W on the green jersey. But, when they had the white W, outlined in blue, on their green jerseys, it looked worse. Hm. Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop! jkrdevil
I think that guy you're talking about worked on Long Island for a few years before he got run off. No Stan Fischler, still does the Devils and Islanders games. He's just not on the Isles jersey's anymore.
