SportsmanTO Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 I'm more of a lurker so i'm not sure if this was noted in the past. I apologize if this is the case. I noticed something different about the Argos helmets when they announced Ricky Williams was signed and now it's been confirmed. 2005 helmet2006 helmetI really like that it's blue instead of whiteish/greyish now.
Davey Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 They also changed the logos on the shoulders as well. Minor changes makes it look alot better.
SportsLogo Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Yeah the blue looks better around the "A" on the helmet. Adds to the double blue that the Argos are known for.
Stampman Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Now if all the teams can rid of theat awful looking piping--they'd all look better. But the Blue on the helmet looks good--and that means time to revise my Madden CFL... steiny_ramone Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 I noticed that too. Maybe it's just the picture, but the blue around the A doesn't seem to match that of the jersey. facespace?http://www.myspace.com/seancalcottmusic http://www.myspace.com/forgottentoys
walkerws Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 It's a decal reflection thing. Decal colors never really match jerseys except maybe black and white.
steiny_ramone Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 I see. facespace?http://www.myspace.com/seancalcottmusic http://www.myspace.com/forgottentoys
Brian in Boston Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 While the current logo does look better with the circle having been changed to Powder Blue, this mark is still no match for the "Argonaut Warrior" logo. The Argonauts should have simply recolored their old logo/uniforms, replacing the Teal/Aqua/Jade-like color with Powder Blue. The "Circle-A" logo is bland.
johnnysama Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 I liked the boat 'A' logo of the 1980s. But this is pretty fine, and a nice touch to an otherwise OK logo.
bear69designs Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Go back to the boat! The blue does look better, though. Looks good.
Stampman Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 I liked the boat 'A' logo of the 1980s. But this is pretty fine, and a nice touch to an otherwise OK logo. That is their best logo. Comic Sans walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve your type here."
Brian in Boston Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 Go back to the boat! While I still think the "Argonaut Warrior" logo was the best that the Argos ever had, I wouldn't mind if they were to resurrect this boat logo...Without the wordmark, it would make a damn fine helmet and/or sleeve logo. You could potentially go with the warrior on the helmet and the boat on the sleeves.
Fred T. Jane Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 I liked the boat 'A' logo of the 1980s. But this is pretty fine, and a nice touch to an otherwise OK logo. SyPhi's got that beaten... [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness. Brian in Boston Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 SyPhi's got that beaten... Without a doubt, SyPhi's Argonaut logo concept is outstanding. I like it even better than the actual Argos boat logo that I recently posted.

bear69designs Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 That is a really awesome concept. Extremely good work... wow!
Sodboy13 Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 I'd like SyPhi's concept on a navy blue hat, please. In lieu of that, I'd like the board's Canadian contingent to show Argos ownership the light and tell them that the Argonaut warrior needs to come back. I have an Argos Flutie replica that uses powder blue instead of the teal/aqua, and it's perfectly gorgeous.
