i can't work out what its supposed to be

after reading the site, i still can't work it out apart from the towers

I see it now. It's the spiers, a curved line (to represent a fence or track boundry?), and a horse.

If this were to symbolize "down the stretch", the horse should be facing the other way.

Either this is taken form the backstretch, or the horse is going in the wrong direction.

This is a lot different than previoud designs which are very detailed and/or stylish. It seems too simplistic for an event like that.

I like the general look, but yeah, the horse is going the wrong bloody way.

Horse racing has lost a tremendous amount of support in the past few decades as the old farts who chewed on cigars and spent their entire days at the track die off. They're trying to rebrand themselves to target the younger crowd. This logo with its futuristic, sleek look would help do it... if they didn't have an experience that was, except for the races themselves, so dull and loathsome.

I looked at that for a good 5 minutes before figuring out where the horse was. Its like on of those wooden JESUS things where you had to stare at it to find the word.

I loved watching the race on TV. I used to live 10 minutes from the Downs and my parents and I would actually go to my grandparents house which was 40 minutes from the track to watch the race and avoid the idiots.
