Thunderstruk
wearing their bp jerseys today against the White Sox??? Any one know?
swilson160
That's odd...besides, their normal blue alt looks so much better than the BP jersey. It's usually the starting pitcher's choice, though; I guess they're allowed to pick the BP jersey if they like. Just another bad choice by Jeff Weaver. tp49
I just flipped on that game and was wonderign the same thing. Considering I don't think they've ever worn the current blue alt on the road.
Yankj1
my guess is that their away jersey's were either misplaced, or they forgot to wash them My MSN jersey group
PhilliesPhan1325
Didn't they wear it in a double header against the Rangers this year too? "The 0-2 pitch... SWING AND A MISS! STRUCK HIM OUT! slapshot
Sometimes teams will wear their BP jerseys. It doesn't happen too often. It might be a heat thing. I don't know the temperature where the M's are playing, but if they don't have the Cool Base jerseys in any other style, they'll probably just wear the BP jerseys. Camden Crazy
I know another team wore their BP's earlier this year in a game, but I forget who. The White Sox maybe?

xyzzyva
If it's as hot and muggy at today's game in Chicago as it was when I was at last night's game, I can understand wearing a breathable jersey. I sweated all through that game (as well as through the surprisingly terrible food service at Comiskey...). Though a lighter color might have helped the Mariners, too. There are 10 types of people in this world: those who understand binary and those who don't.

I don't know the temperature where the M's are playing, but if they don't have the Cool Base jerseys in any other style, they'll probably just wear the BP jerseys. No team has a CoolBase jersey in gray, according to an article linked a couple of months back on Uniwatch. Every team has a CoolBase in white and alternate, but Majestic has, to this point, been unable to get the look right for the gray, as MLB has said that they must look the same as the regular jersey that it replaces. My best guess is that since Seattle does not wear their alt on the road normally, they did not pack them for the trip. With the projected temps for Chicago being what they were, I'd imagine they did not want to roast in their normal Poly road jerseys and chose to wear the BPs instead. There's not a rule against it, no matter how ugly they may be.

dancincy
Didn't they wear it in a double header against the Rangers this year too?Yes they did. About a month ago. I have no clue why they did today though.
troy_3223
According to the latest Mariners Mailbag on the website, they wore the BP jerseys in Texas due to the heat. According to the account of the game on the Mariners website, Weaver asked to use the BP jerseys due to the heat and humidity in Chicago. Richie Sexson, who hit a homerun today said it was a "good call" though one wonders what he would have said about it if he picked up yet another golden sombrero. Perhaps this year I'll be able to wear my M's jersey around town without having to apologize for my old hometown team. (Would be even better to walk around without having to explain who the Mariners or Canucks are whenever I wear either of my jerseys. I'm getting tired of life in the south.) There's not a rule against it, no matter how ugly they may be.Yep, when I worked at ProImage we had a few people request Athletics road jerseys in the cool base look, and when I called Majestic to ask how we could get ahold of them thats exactly what they told me.
