"People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use."

Soren Kierkegaard

I don't think we will find a better quote if we do this for 100 pages....

that's my sig line in my e-mail, and my favorite quote of all time!

not necessarily words of wisdom... but good quotes none-the-less...

"Tell Yao Ming, 'ching-chong-yang-wah-ah-soh." - Shaq

That quote was later followed by...

"Tell Shaq, 'nigga gotz some fried chicken.  Bling, bling." - Yao Ming

Yao learned the deragatory term from the Rush Hour movies.

If I'm not mistaken, the quote attributed to Yao was actually a fabrication - it was part of a satirical article written by an Asian American student at Cal Tech who was upset that Shaq "got off" with an apology and no further repercussions.

"Nobody Goes there any more its too crowded"--

Yogi Berra

This was in reference to a place in St. Louis called Ruggeri's which closed in the 70's. I don't think Yogi's responsible for its demise, however.

My contribution . . . . .

"Well, that's odd ... I've just robbed a man of his livelihood, and yet I feel strangely empty. Tell you what, Smithers - have him beaten to a pulp." C. Montgomery Burns

And yet, whether it be the same or not, there is a Ruggeri's in Wentzville.

The most honest person in the orginization is Carlton the Bear, because he never says anything.

Canada is like an old cow. The West feeds it. Ontario and Quebec milk it. And you can well imagine what it?s doing in the Maritimes.

"Beware the beast man for he is the devil's pawn. Alone among god's primates he kills for sport, or lust, or greed. Yea he will murder his brother to posses his brother's land. Let him not breed in great numbers for he will make a desert of his home and yours."

The Sacred Ape Scrolls in Planet of the Apes-29th Scroll, 6th verse-I don't subscribe to them myself but this passage is very true.

and oddly enough, a frenchman wrote that book!

But Rod Serling co-wrote the screenplay--not sure if these words were his or another screenwriter--I know they're not in Pierre Boulle's novel (The French guy who wrote the book that inspired the movies, etc)

"You can't have everything... where would you put it?"

- Steven Wright

Or my favorite line of his-

"It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it."
