Sabrejeff
I still would love to see an NHL goalie wear pink pads and dontage $1 for every save he makes with them and $5 for every goal he allows and have the team and league each match the total they raise. In addition, auctioning off the equipment after they are done with it (for a whole season or a month or something) and put that money towards the charity. I think Harding of the Wild would have had the best chance to do something like that but I don't think he is even wearing the mask anymore... This is just something I have been thinking about for the past few years and I do think it would be a great thing for the NHL to try.Didn't they have pink sticks one year? oakland ehs
The last year or two the NHL has had a weekend in which the players used pink sticks, or some guys at least used pink tape if their stick manufacturer wouldn't do up a pink stick.
nwtrailtrekker
i think its a great idea, especially if they auction off the pink memorbila to fans and give the money to breast cancer charities. anyone who thinks its bad or wrong is terrible.I don't think it's a bad ideal, but my gripe w/ the whole thing is that they don't go all out Prostate Cancer Awareness (even though MLB does the baby blue wristband and ribbon thing which is a LOT better than doing nothing),but at the same time it would be cool if MLB do the same thing for Fathers' Day if the break out the blue bats and auction it off to the Prostate Cancer Foundation or something.....or blue balls. p.s. yes i know that one has been beat to death.p.s.s. no pun intended on "beat to death"

This would probably draw A LOT more attention than a few pink sticks. A pink goalie would definitely perk a lot of peoples attention. speedo
The Calgary Stampeders had pink jerseys once, but it was completely unrelated to Mother's Day or any other cause. Some 5-watt bulb tossed the white jerseys in the hot wash with the home reds, and voila!! Instant pink !!I don't mind the baseball pink accessories of Mother's Day. Nice touch... "Old folks"
TheGodfather
I think it's stupid.1. Do the same for fathers day for cancer, as mentioned, prostate cancer.2. This is getting annoying, it seems the only cancer anyone cares about is breast cancer. I'd much rather see a general cancer research, or something that kills more and affects more. The pink thing is stupid in any sport, do yellow for cancer research, or red for the cancer society. Enough of this breast cancer bull.

And this wouldn't be a one off, it would be over a period of time so it will add up. Because Korbyn Is Colour Blind, My Signature Is Now Idiot Proof - Thanks Again Braden!!Go Leafs Go! Enough of this breast cancer bull.1. They indeed do the prostate cancer thing for Father's Day, so it's all good. 2. I do like the idea of a general cancer research fund, and I also think the pink bit's getting played out. The funny thing is, breast cancer isn't female-exclusive. I understand that the majority of cases are indeed women, but men are capable of having breast cancer. Maybe the pink could go for ovarian or cervical cancer? As an aside, thinking that this isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread doesn't make you "terrible." It means you have a differing opinion, nothing more. I'm about to be a first-time father, I love my wife dearly, and it would end me if she got breast cancer. However, that doesn't mean I have to buy every pink item I see, does it? Yes, I'm stupid because I think the breast cancer is getting played out. I would be very hurt if it affected my family directly, but still would feel the same. Other cancers deserve more attention. TruColor
Remember, the #1 killer of women is heart disease - not breast cancer. However, it's all bad. The attention to breast cancer is a good thing, but I have to agree that more attention should be given to other diseases as well.
