raysox
I'm guessing a soccer team based in New Orleans.Oh I though it was a concept for an actual team. If not, I think you're right.
-kj
Given that the Shell Shockers announced a while back their intention to rebrand, you could both be right.

maz
Whatever its for, lightening up the light parts of the ball would be a good idea.

cyandlux
Oil/soccer ball was the correct answer. The team it is for is not well known in the US. Sorry, I havent updated my location to Mexico City.C&C please
bohob
I would recommend centering the ball within the shield. The way it bumps up against the bottom of the shield is distracting.

cyandlux
Thats the one! You win...nothing. Spearhead
Well, I got the oil drop concept that's why I guessed Nigeria. The colors looked like the Nigerian flag.
O_Town_Clown
Thats the one! You win...nothing. A coworker called a previous version a fish so I wanted to see what you guys thought the updated version looked like.My friend Armando Begines plays for them. Long story about Chivas, the American School Foundation Guadalajara Language Institute, Chivas USA, University of Hartford....This logo is infinitely better than the concept in your first post, but I'd recommend a few changes.Try putting the oil drop/soccer ball wholly inside of the shield, rather than extending through the top. Narrow the vertical stripes and have them going the width of the shield instead of just two in the middle (or drop the stripes altogether). Narrowing and increasing the number of stripes might require you to put a white border around the oil drop for contrast.

Krona
Good concept, but the panels on the ball are bothering me. its tricky, but you could probably find a way to get them matching up better.
