xxjdm66
The logo itself is bland, MLS could've done a better job. Any comments? Redskin IS a racist term, no matter how Daniel Snyder tries to spin it.
GFB
I like it. It's simple, classy, and fits with the RSL theme. I also love the banner rendering at the top of the shield.
eRay
I'm with GFB, this looks nice. It isn't flashy or in-your-face, but it works real well.
hecticbro
The all-star game is the best of the MLS vs. some middle-of-the-road team from England?
heernumurr
The all-star game is the best of the MLS vs. some middle-of-the-road team from England?Same as last year if I recall...If the issue is that Everton aren't a good enough team, a lot of people would argue that a mid-table Premier League team is a great match to the MLS level of competition. Others might argue that even a mid-table Premier League team is a much higher level of competition, and too big a name for this game.
-kj
Chelsea played in this in 2006, and were beaten 1-0. Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop! Jigga
I'll take boring over bad 7 days out of 7.Seems as though the MLS event designers are still batting 1.000 to me. Nice work. I don't follow their league. It just seems like an odd format. I'd prefer to see the all stars from each conference of the MLS play each other. To play some team from a foreign league seems to belittle the MLS, especially if that team isn't even a champion.

I also love the banner rendering at the top of the shield.I too think it's simple but for some reason it's very cluttered and distracting for some reason. I don't know if it's the fact that mountains are atop of the crest which give it a jagged top and the banners/flags come into the crest as red and come out of the MLS logo as green. It also might be the stinger next to the soccer ball at the bottom. It just seems thrown together from the thumbnails during brainstorming sessions. The one thing I do like about it is a lack of sponsorship logo on the crest. Sierra Mist and Pepsi have been in some of the logos in the past. chestnutz
I love the All Star Game and how they pit themselves against an elite international club, it's extremely exciting for me as an American soccer fan. To me, Everton is around the same level as the MLS all stars, people don't give the MLS enough credit. erikas | go birds | dribbble
kewp80
I really like the mountain and the banners at the top. Not flashy, which seems to be the standard for All Star games, but I think I like this more. Like the MLB ASG logo this year which is pretty simple as well.Hell, if Real Salt Lake changed their badge to something like this I would say it would be a big update. Nice work. It's amazing how one league can consistently churn out good-to-awesome event logos while the others are batting .500 at best, right? I think many of the team logos suck, but the league-issued logos are usually top notch. This one's not as great as some of their other efforts, but like you said, it ain't bad neither. To me, Everton is around the same level as the MLS all stars, people don't give the MLS enough credit.I think there are only a few MLS All Stars that would crack Everton's starting XI. Don't get me wrong, I love the format, but I have a hard time taking a result against any team in preseason form too seriously. This may be the first time the international club wins, because I'm willing to wager that Tim Howard keeps a clean sheet (assuming he plays). Discogod
To play some team from a foreign league seems to belittle the MLS, especially if that team isn't even a champion.Yet... They are FA Cup finalists. As a Brit who follows the Premier League, I agree that it's an odd format. But didn't the NHL used to play its all-star games this way, with an NHL team vs. a national or club team from overseas?
-kj
Actually, it was the defending Stanley Cup champions vs an all-star squad from the rest of the league, way back in the day. There were a couple of occasions where the All-Star Game was replaced by what you're describing, such as Rendez-vous '87, NHL All-Stars vs the Soviet national team.
