The Chargers have played moronic football tonight, they don't deserve to win this game.

Like most teams, the Chargers only carry 7 OL. They won game one, so why play your best game in week one?

The Cowboys only carry 7 OL too. If one gets gets hurt, then there is just one guy for the OG and C position and one guy for a OT. As Millen said in SportsCenter, the better players make the plays. The Patriots and Chargers did that tonight.

The Chargers flat out got lucky tonight they faced a Raiders team with not a whole lot of talent, they did not deserve to win, but pulled it out because they are much more talented the Raiders, try to play like this against any of 20 other teams in the NFL its a loss.

As for the Pats, McKelvin should be given a game ball. What a Stupid move to try and run the ball out of the endzone on a kickoff when you have a five point lead late. Especially when you have no momentum after getting the ball.

I know the Raiders lost, and of course losses are disappointing, but Raiders fans have to be happy with what they saw tonight. That was the best Raiders game I've seen since they beat Tennessee in the AFC title game. This team is gonna be exciting, you just wait and see.

After games like tonight's, I find myself wondering, what does it take to be a Bills fan? Only the Bills could've lost this game.

It builds character.

Then Buffalo as a city already has plenty of character. They're warehousing it now.

2 MNF games that come down to the end, I love it. Too see the Oakland fans riding high and then get the rug yanked out from under them like that was pretty dramatic.

And to think...that stupid "Bert Emmanuel" rule erased a Raiders TD.

I was THISCLOSE to being 2-for-2 on my upset predictions for week 1 (I think only one other person picked the Niners to win). In fact--screw it--the Raiders won. The Chargers just had more points when time ran out. ^_^

Eagles tackle Shawn Andrews out for the season with a case of insanity.

Agreed, from someone who knows. In fact, the Bills' meltdown was disturbingly remindful of the Saints back in the day. Ken Stabler getting sacked for a safety with a minute left in Dallas to blow a one-point lead, having the Raiders down on MNF in a 35-14 laugher only to lose it 42-35, losing on a Hail Mary to Atlanta only to celebrate the next season by snapping the ball over the punter's head in OT to lose to them again, Culpepper dropping the shotgun snap on a last second 2-point attempt only to pick it up and run in to win the game for Minnesota and keep the Saints out of the playoffs...yeah, Saints fans have a LOT of character!

I really felt bad for Buffalo's fans last night. You know it's coming, you know they're going to blow it, you just don't know how and you can't help hoping and praying that this is somehow the one that will break the chain...but it never is.

On another note, that 'going low at the QB' call on Wilfork (IIRC) was RIDICULOUS. He did nothing wrong whatsoever. In fact, that was a picture-perfect tackle.

Maybe, but I don't see it happening. I think Justice gets the first shot. As for Andrews, I'm tired of this crap with him. 3 seasons missed in 6 years. Get your **** together... <_<

For another twist of the dagger...how about that River City Miracle a few years ago to score a TD with not time left on the clock....only to miss the extra point? That one point is the deciding point in the final game of the season, and knocks out the Saints from playoff contention.

:D

Wow, thanks! I DID forget that one. :cursing: << That's to the Saints for doing it and you for reminding me. ^_^

For anyone unfamiliar, here's a link. This play makes the Broncos' win over the Bengals look run-of-the-mill, yet the Black and Gold managed to pi** it away in fine Saints style. The name of the link below refers to Saints play-by-play man Jim Henderson. That audio is over the XP in the following clip:

BTW, my last couple of posts are a nice explanation of the phrase underneath my avatar.

The sad part is that I actually thought they were going to blow it once Fred Jackson scored that TD, I knew they would find a way. There can't be a more "cursed" city in sports, even thought Cleveland and NO are close.

For anyone who cares, Jeff Garcia will wear #9 during his second go-around with the Eagles.

I really wonder if they'll put any #9 jerseys for sale, knowing that he'll only be here for a couple of weeks. My guess is yes - they will. And yes - people will buy them.
