Cavs with another alternate last night

I hope Cablevision really gives him his own channel to maximize his income beyond NBA salary. LBJ TV. Good lord, the Yankees have to resort to shows like Ruben Sierra: A Life Examined, Hey Wanna Buy Don Mattingly's Jock, and Recite Starting Lineups From Memory Like An Idiot Savant For Nominal Prizes to flesh out their schedule, and they're the biggest sports team in America. What on earth would a LeBron James channel even be?

Lebron already has his own channel. It is called ESPN.

Post of the day? If i have the authority to call it?

But they are Knicks colors, and wearing those old uniforms when everyone thinks LeBron is going to New York is not a clever move.

Don't get me wrong, he may end up there... but it wouldn't make sense. LeBron wants rings. NY is far, far, far from a ring. It took LeBron 3 years to get the Cavs to legit title contenders. NY is AT LEAST 3 years away from being somewhat of a title contender.

this idea that LeBron/Wade/Bosh can play together, i'm just not sure. Wade and LeBron need the ball a lot to be effective. I don't think NY is big enough to fit their ego's in. LeBron's ego is seriously sickening.

Wishful thinking. Obviously the Knicks would sign more players around him. The Knicks in their current form are just killing time; surely hardly any of these bums will factor into a contending Knicks team. I can see them pulling a Celtics. As much as that '08 Celtics team pained my ass, at least they vanquished the stupid notion (held by some fans and the coach of the Bulls) that you have to toil in the first and second rounds for years to win an NBA championship. You can just Sign Freaking Everybody and do it that way too.

The Knicks have no idea what they are going to do next summer. they are praying a big name decides to sign with them. If looking at championship teams the last 10 years, teams need role players. They are hoping that if one of the big names sign, that EVERYONE will want to go there. That hasn't necessarily been the case. The talent needs time to mesh and develop together. It's not something that just gets turned on like a light. Additionally, i do not see many role type players willing to go to NY if they have to deal with LeBron/Wade/Bosh getting all their shots.

Just watch the Cavs and Heat, when LeBron and Wade go into that offense where they just pound the ball at the top of the key, the rest of the team goes stagnant.

I also don't think D'Antoni can win the big ones. Late in the playoffs, teams need to be able to play defense. D'Anotoni doesn't even practice defense.

As for the ego thing... look at what LeBron already said: "getting a max deal isn't main priority." but then he turns around and says he proly wouldn't sign for anything less that a near max deal. It's not a big secret, everything that goes on with the Cavs goes through LeBron. Donnie Walsh and D'Atoni won't give LeBron that kind of power.

As for people saying LeBron is def out of Cleveland... people forget some interesting points. He just built a huge house in Akron. In highschool, he had the opportunity to play at Oakhill Academy, but he said he would rather play in Akron at St. V's where he was from. He then said, if he went to college, it was going to be Ohio State, so he could play infront of family and friends. He never said he would play at the premiere programs like Duke, NC, UCLA, Kentucky, etc. He said Ohio State. People forget that Jay-Z is with the Nets, not the Knicks. The Nets facilities are horrible, and it will take 2-3 years before they can play in the new arena. Meanwhile, the Q is one of the nicest building in the NBA, including having one of the best training facilities in the league, with the Cleveland Clinic Courts practice center. He has an owner that will spend money out the wazoo, who is getting casino's (i believe 2 of them) built in the City. He has a fan base that worships him (sad but true). LeBron has 2 sides to him... the Wall Street and the Main Street. He dresses well and gets on GQ and other mags... but at the same time, he LOVES the hip hop culture. When Young Jeezy was in Cleveland for a concert this past summer, LeBron came out during Put On... and was "rapping" for Cleveland and Akron. Even young Jeezy was representing for Cleveland. Last, a huge Chinese sponsorship came in to be part owner of the Cavs. They are going to market him ALL over Asia. I don't see a big investor like that coming in without having some reassurance from LeBron.

but thats just me. you are free to believe what you will.

is your economy really based on LeBron James

sounds like the only positive money making thing in Ohio the way he's putting it.

Face it, the guy can still live in the area and support the community but work in New York. He might even be able to give more to the communites of Akron or Cleveland by going to a larger city and taking his popularity and market it into the stratosphere. I still find it comical that a little ping pong ball bounced just the right way and fell into Cleveland's hands. He could easily have landed in Detroit, Denver, Toronto, or even Miami. Its not like Cleveland owns him or anything.

No, their main export is crippling depression.

Engine, Engine, Number Nine, on the New York transit line,

If my train goes off the track, pick it up! Pick it up! Pick it up!

Back on the scene, crispy and clean,

You can try, but then why, 'cause you can't intervene.

We be the outcast, down for the settle. Won't play the rock, won't play the pebble.

Don't slow down in East Cleveland or you'll die.

I'm not trying to be cute either, stay the hell away from East Cleveland.

Quoted for truth. I've been to Cleveland and there are parts that can rival any neighborhood in New York City as far as having that "I might get stabbed by a crackhead" charm.

Wait, are you implying that the Celtics secured the title by signing Eddie House and James Posey????

If the Knicks sign LeBron and become perpetually mediocre...maybe they can "pull a Celtics" by stealing a guy like Al Jefferson in the middle of the draft, lose their way into some more high draft picks, package them all for some veteran stars to complement LeBron; and then hope they gel properly.

There's a salary cap, you can't just sign everybody. Although if you're the Lakers, you can get stars traded to you for nothing if you have the right plants in other teams' front offices.

But to be fair the Celtics certainly proved a point by going for the gusto. It just wasn't anything like 'signing everybody', and it required a perfect combination of veteran talent (Pierce), tradeable assets (Jefferson, West), keeping the right young guys (Rondo, Perk), topped off by injuries generating a lottery pick to add to the tradeable assets. If the Knicks sign LeBron they'll have the veteran talent in LBJ and, what, Galinari? They won't have too many other ingredients to "Pull a Celtics."

Lets get this straight for anyone that thinks otherwise...

...you put LeBron on any team in the NBA...ANY...and they instantly become contenders. Case in point CLEVELAND. Lets not fool anyone here. I'm not saying that team will be a Champion, but they will be contenders and the seats will be full. period. Thats why the Knicks would love him.
