A-Train
So I decided to start a Personal Baseball League, aka National Baseball League (NBL). I like the way Minor League logos look, so I'm going to try and mimic their style. There will be a total of 30 teams, and 6 divisions, with 3 divisions in each conference. But,I need help on some names and for you geographic experts, I need some help with forming the divisions.I want this to be as realistic as possible and would also like some creative team names. The ones without ?'s are set and I have no plan to change them. Others cities can change but want to expand to states that don't have teams. Help is appreciated!Anaheim AnacondasJuneau FrostbiteMontana GrizzliesSeattle ????New Orleans ????Vermont VooDooLos Angeles ????Miami ????Carolina CopperheadsPortland PharaohsNashville Pittsburgh PhantomsCincinnati CyclonesClevelandMinnesota HuskiesDallas Houston BanditsSan Diego ????Philadelphia FreedomNew York KnightsSalt Lake City Freeze???Toronto ????Atlanta Valcanoes/Inferno?Las Vegas ????Albuquerque InvadersPhoenix ????Iowa/Boston?DetroitChicagoBuffalo/Tampa Bay??? AnythingChicago
I like all of Chapeeko's sugestions, but for the ones he didn't get...Atlanta Inferno sounds good.Toronto Rapids (Toronto is in the Niagara Falls area, I think a baseball team called the the Rapids would be cool.)And Salt Lake City Freeze sounds good. logocruncher
As a proud resident of Vermont, I'm a little confused as to the Vermont VooDoo name. Vermont is about as far from voodooism as one can get. The Northeast Kingdom doesn't have many witch doctors to my knowledge. That said, I love the idea of a team from the Green Mountain State. Some other names don't really work for me. I understand that you're going for creative, but I'd recommend having some type of connection to the home city. As far as I know, not many cyclones blow into Cleveland from Lake Erie, and Portland seems to have a crippling pharaoh deficiency. I'm not a big fan of the Anaheim Anacondas or the Atlanta Valcanoes (sic) either. Still, I look forward to seeing where this goes.

Ink
How about Vermont Timbers? There is a lot of trees in Vermont. Or maybe Maples since that is the state tree of Vermont. Or even something along the lines of Green Mountain since Vermont is the Green Mountain State.

GeauxColonels
I would go with "Pelicans" for New Orleans as a nod to the former minor league teams that played in the city under that moniker.

How about the Toronto "Monarchs" or "Dukes" because of English Canada's strong allegiance to the monarchy?

A-Train
I need team names for Detroit, Jacksonville, and possibly New Jersey.I'm trying to think of good baseball names but it's getting harder.ALSO, When I introduce each team's identity, each team will be fitted with an inaugural logo, to make things more realistic. knnhrvy16
As a Utahn, I'm not so sure I'm too keen on "Freeze" for Salt Lake. It's not bad, it's just that I don't know if fans would take to it.Some suggestions:- Pioneers (settled by Mormon Pioneers in 1847)- 47's (same reasoning)- Olympians (2002 Winter Olympics)- Rattlers (many rattlesnakes live in the area and all around the state)- Stingers (former minor league team, nod to "Beehive State")- Senators (SLC is the capital of Utah)- Mavericks (nod to former Utah Governor (1949-1957) and SLC mayor (1959-1971) J. Bracken Lee, who was referred to by some as "The Maverick") The opinions I express are mine, and mine only. If I am to express them, it is not to say you or anyone else is wrong, and certainly not to say that I am right.
