Junior Seau off a Cliff

NJTank

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking that he was falsely accused of the DV and was so disgruntled that he did something stupid (like driving off a cliff). Stuff like this happens all the time because of the corrupt and biased court systems.

Yeah, I was late feeding the meter just one time and I immediately Thelma-and-Louised it.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that, but it was your fault. Accept responsibility and get some mental health assistance.

He was released after an hour and a half. Is the joke that he wasn't kept in jail?

My response

Why should be have been kept in jail?

Well in retrospect, possibly as a way of keeping the guy safe from himself. However, I was under the impression that DV accusations or reports do typically result in a cooling off night/day in jail. Not a processing and a release. The latter makes it sound like the police took a look at everything, said there's nothing wrong, be about your way.

So I'm asking, do you think it's a joke because they just let him go, or you have other reasons for thinking its a joke that you can explain in detail.

If he puts in any details, I'm pinning it all as a new thread a la the Loveline, so we can all use it as a jumping-off point for getting ourselves the help we need, from the people best qualified to give it: the internet.

the notion that ... the entire judicial system is stacked to be prejudiced against very rich men is... nonsense.

I agree. It's usually the poor that get no help from the judicial system. The rich seem to get off scot-free for this kind of alleged behaviour.

We'll have to agree to disagree, especially if you don't have anything intelligent to add to just sputtering "nonsense".

I tell you what - you stop spouting nonsense, and I'll stop labelling it as such.

If saying something true is construed as nonsense in your little world, I can understand why you are as confused as you are.

Now, now, there's no excuse for attacking another poster. Attack the opinions, but not the person. There's an important distinction there, and I'll thank you to remember it.

Bizarre rants about how the entire judicial system is somehow stacked against the poor men aren't worthy of extended response. Like any conspiracy theory, they're best dismmissed summarily. Now, if you'd like to discuss some specific complaints you might have about the system, without resorting to those conspiracy theories, then I'd be happy to do so.

Until then, the notion that Seau might have been driven to drive his car off a cliff because the entire judicial system is stacked to be prejudiced against very rich men is... nonsense.

You do realize that your first response to me was "nonsense", right? Thanks.

Anyway, I would hardly called what I posted bizarre, or even a rant. You are saying that the fact that the system is biased in favor of women is a conspiracy theory. This lead me to believe that you either are willfully ignorant (not an attack, just an observation) of the domestic violence legal system. That's not an attack on you, it's just an observation that you are choosing not to accept the reality of the legal system. You will wake up if and when the system bites you. I was naive too, but I woke up when I got a taste of the system. Fortunately I was not arrested, but I saw the workings of the system firsthand.

I'm speaking from personal experience, whereas you are speaking from ... I don't know, I would actually like to know what makes you so knowledgable about the system.

And I never said anything about him being rich having to do with anything. Making stuff up in an argument can be considered... nonsense as well.

I was trying to say that there is a good chance that he may have been arrested on false allegations, which may have lead to him going crazy and/or suicial. It does happen. I'm not saying that he didn't have other issues going on, but maybe being falsely arrested put him over the top.

It's not the judicial system's fault if an arrest puts you "over the top". You were a literal time bomb anyway and there a hundred different stimuli that could have kicked the suicide attempt off. As I suggested earlier, however, this could be another brick in the wall of evidence that suggests football as currently played is harmful to the mental health of its players.

To use this as an indictment of the DV process is completely off base.

This post is a placeholder until I can get to a computer that doesn't block youtube, because I need to post a Ronnie Dobbs video the second I get home.

Brett better come up something fast -- Junior is taking the SportsCenter lead away from him!

Quick, retire then come back as the new Cowboys QB in a week!

Who doesn't like Gothamite? That's lonely territory, friend.

Keep in mind that we're talking about a guy who spells logo with an extra o.

loogodude's like that crazy uncle at Thanksgiving. He's always spouting, as Goth said, nonsense, but damn it if he isn't entertaining.

"THE COURT'S STACKED AGAINST MEN!"

"Sure it is Uncle Loogodude."
