He killed it as the QB for the Vols before getting hurt though. I believe he was even ahead of Peyton Manning on the depth chart at one point as well.

#6 is Brandon Stewart, another FR QB who was highly touted out of Texas. He wore #2 after Helton graduated and ended up transfering to A&M (maybe).

#14 is Jerry Colquitt and was actually the opening day starter, but was injured (knee ligaments) seven plays into his first start. He'd backed up Shuler and Andy Kelly. His injury gave Helton, and later Manning the starting job that year.

Helton took over for Colquitt and was hurt (again, knee ligaments) three weeks later against Mississippi State, making way for Manning. You all know the rest.

Yep. Manning went 0-3 against Florida for his career, got housed in the Orange Bowl and Tee Martin won first ever the BCS Title game.

Yep, and Tee Martin is coaching somewhere (Kentucky) and Manning is arguably the one of the best NFL quarterbacks, a Super Bowl winner! So yeah, Tee Martin the better QB... NEVER!!!

Irrelevant to the topic of this thread, but thanks.

Well, then for this thread, I will state that David Cutcliffe lost his hair, but made up for it by gaining weight.

If we have a thread on Josh Booty, he made the right decision as well since unlike Helton, Booty has a World Series ring.

In today's edition of Useless Sports Facts Trivia...

...Tamaurice Martin (now you know why we went by "Tee") was actually born left-handed. He only learned how to throw (and thus play) right-handed because everyone he watched, and was coached by, was right-handed, so thus, he also picked it up. He's also a native of Mobile, AL...hometown of a guy by the name of Henry Aaron, Chicago White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy, and another former SEC BCS bowl-winning QB who didn't quite pan out at the next level--you might have heard of him before: JaMarcus Russell.

This has been today's edition of Useless Sports Facts Trivia.
