Not gonna lie, I was pulling for Tony in the last couple of laps but Dario & Scott were just too quick, I was impressed by Hinchcliffe, even Marco had a good car but it wasn't enough. I guess we will be seeing the dominance of Honda around the ovals. Soon as the final lap started, I knew Sato was going to try & pass & it came back to bite him. Either way, it was a good Indy 500.

Monaco, where do I begin? Schumi gets the pole not only for him to lose it due to a penalty, only for him to crash. Mark Webber won only for controversy to come about. Teams are claiming that Red Bull's machine had a hole on the floor & of course it wouldn't be Monaco without a few crashes. Monaco is always a treat & the race was enjoyable. Now Fernando has the points lead instead of Vettel...

Onto Montreal for F1 & Detroit for IndyCar

btw, rumors going about Lewis is resigning with McLaren or going to Red Bull while Webber & DiResta are rumored for Ferrari or in DiResta's case, Mercedes. Thoughts?

Edit: I dunno if anyone is into rally, but did anyone catch the debut of Global Rally Challenge last night in Charlotte?

^Lewis would be stupid to leave McLaren for either Ferarri or RBR. Both have drivers who the team owners think the sun shines from more than one orifice so he'd become second fiddle.

Anywho - Moncao, gorgeous as ever. Quite happy at the result as it wasn't Alonso or Schumi whom may I say needs to retire, especially after his blocking antics in FP1 in Spain, let alone that shunt with Bruno.

Wasn't able to catch much of the Indy 500 but glad that Dario won. Got a bit choked up when he put those sunglasses on.

...........

And, fresh from the F1 rumour mill.... a newspaper in Mexico is reporting that the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez will be taking the spot vacated by Valenica on the '13 calendar (meaning it should sit along side the Montreal and Port Imperial races.) Pinch of salt required for now.

And last but not least...Sauber has cut a F1.08 chassis in half.

All I can say is this, if this gets rid of Valencia then good riddance. I'd rahter see another race in the Americas, either Mexico or Argentina. I did find the article HB mentioned

http://www.crash.net/f1/news/180291/1/mexico_return_imminent.html

I also found Sauber's video quite impressive & as for Lewis, yeah, he would be that stupid enough to leave, then again, its better than both Red Bull drives going to Ferrari. Seriously, playing 2nd fiddle to Alonso? HA HA HA

Unless Fernando isn't happy with Ferrari, I doubt either will happen. I think Webber is tired of playing the Barichello role (sorry Ruebens)

Edit: If anyone jumps soon it'll be Sergio, at least speed thinks so & I could see that, he's quite talented.

Checo in a Ferrari with potential to win the home GP? A sure fired way to shift tickets like hot tamales. ;)

The only concern would be having the race in the summer (although in '90 it was on June 24th). Perhaps it'd be better to have the Mexican race in tandem with the Texas (and Sao Palo) in the Autumn and then Canada and New Jersey in the early summer.

Normally I would talk about how Uncle Bernie would say oh, this race won't happen on New Jersey, I really don't feel like posting what that troll says so moving on...

Lewis has 4 options & no, it will not be Marussia, HRT, Caterham & Williams

http://planetf1.com/news/3213/7788027/-Hamilton-Has-Four-Options-For-Next-Year-

Also back to Indy Car, someone wants Randy fired...

Aero Kits manufactures will be announced in June

Last but not least LeMans is in a few weeks with Audi dealing Toyota now

^Love that pic.

Talk this week is that Paul di Resta is being lined up to replace Lewis in Woking. Both managed by Anthony Hamilton.. convenient no?

And, if Hamilton's (alleged) decision to move has been helped by those recent pit stop mistakes, he should not forget that no team is immune. Ferrari in Singapore a couple years ago springs to mind.

BTW anyone watch DTM? Its at the Red Bull Ring (nee Österreichring) - should be a good race, although Diamond Jubilee events take precedence today, so the PVR is all fired up and ready.

Vettel will try out Port Imperial after Montreal

http://planetf1.com/driver/18227/7796690/Vettel-to-try-out-New-Jersey-course

I'm not much of a Vettel fan, but still I bet that would be neat to see.

Owners have shot down the Aero Kits for Indy for now

http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/indycar-owners-reject-aero-kits-again

I could see why, some could see the whole, one aero kit= dominance sort of thing, hopefully the kit will speak for itself. I was impressed with Detroit with the exception of one thing...

Hopefully they'll get this fixed for the next race, cause it was entertaining IMO

  • 2 weeks later...

Guess who's back, back again......The Mile that is! If I wasn't broke, I'd be there today. But, I will enjoy all it's splendor on ABCHD! Hope it's a great race and there are few cautions. I'm saying Tony Kanaan gets back on the winning track here today.
