Start times for Omaha-

Saturday at 3 PM ET-

Mississippi State

vs.

Oregon State

Saturday at 8 PM ET-

Louisville

vs.

Indiana

Sunday at 3 PM ET-

North Carolina

vs.

NC State

Sunday at 8 PM ET-

LSU

vs.

UCLA

Well, since my Gamecocks were denied in an error plagued series against UNC (still getting over that, ugh)...here are my predictions for the first matchups, from what I have seen after watching these regionals and supers like crazy.

Side 1:

Miss State over Oregon State

Indiana over Louisville

Louisville eliminates Oregon State

Indiana defeats Miss State

Miss State eliminates Louisville

Indiana defeats Miss State

Side 2:

NC State defeats North Carolina

LSU defeats UCLA

UCLA eliminates North Carolina

LSU defeats NC State

NC State eliminates UCLA

LSU defeats NC State

Finals:

Indiana

vs

LSU

Hard to predict the winner now but I am favoring a Indiana/LSU matchup with LSU as champion. Either way, I love college baseball and will be watching every single game. This will be a great CWS as there are some fresh faces (NC State, Lousville, Indiana, Miss State). I may be bitter, but I just can't call North Carolina a great team after what I saw the past few days. They will pitch everyone in the bullpen plus a few athletic fans, but I don't think they stay long in Omaha.

I am excited for the Louisville/Indiana match. There is a fun little rivalry on this board between two fans. It is cool they get to meet in the postseason. I would have expected basketball but, I will take it.

BTW, kudos to Louisville. Their athletic department stepped it up. A big thanks to Papa John for putting extra toppings on the AD.

All I want to say is good luck to IU against Louisville and hopefully they play as well as advertised. I like what you said about Papa John's because they're a big donor to Louisville athletics and the football stadium is named after them. Give the credit to Tom Jurich because he is Louisville Athletics and without Jurich, all of this year's success would be for nothing. :P

If you are a Louisville fan, order Papa Johns. He is the reason. Him and the big ass checkbook. $$$ makes the major CFB world go round. Funny, isn't it? Money is so important in amateur sports. No wonder shadiness is afoot.

Great ending to Mississippi State- Oregon State game. Oregon State flies out to warning track with 2 outs and 2 on, Mississippi State wins 5-4. Everyone watching thought it was gone and the Beavers had won.

Mississippi State plays Indiana Monday night at 7 PM CT, Oregon State plays Louisville Monday at 2 PM CT.

Man, Louisville's Manager is great at strategically relieving pitchers to kill rallies.

Coach Mac does that sometimes and this time, it cost the team the victory. Great performance by IU and now is a good time not to lose a single game.

No, it kept Louisville in the game. Think about how many players IU left stranded on the bases last night; particularly after pitching changes.

NC State defeats UNC 8-1. Even though UNC is the No.1 overall seed, I can't say that I'm surprised. UNC hasn't looked good the past month, this is their 3rd loss in the postseason.

UCLA downs LSU to finish round 1 of Omaha, UCLA plays NC State in the winners bracket Tuesday at 7 PM CT. LSU and UNC play Tuesday at 2 PM CT in an elimination game.

That LSU game was a rough one for me to watch. Good, tough, close game, great pitching, about evenly matched, and UCLA was able to capitalize on LSU's mistakes and errors that seemed to happen at inopportune times (lead-off batter). Telling that the game was 2-1, and both UCLA runs were unearned.

LSU didn't do well against sky/light/powder blue in the opener; I hope it's not a trend that continues with Carolina blue.

It is what it is.

Louisville is getting annihilated by Oregon State right now. :(

Edit: Cards becomes the first team eliminated from the CWS losing 11-4. Still, It was a very good season by the Cards and going to Omaha was the icing on the cake on the season.

Sigh. Watching UCLA go this far really makes ASU's season that much more disappointing. We played SO much better than them in the games we had vs them this year :(

And that's why Indiana kept their starter in for the entirety of Game 1.

BULLDOGS WIN!! Another big 8th inning and another scary 9th, but now we're in the drivers seat. Second time we've done this, in 1985 we got beat twice after winning the first two, finishing in third.

Indiana played great, though. They're a very good team, and I'll be cheering Wednesday against Oregon State.
