  1. They were talking about the eggplant and black script Anaheim jersey…check out the photo in the “first time” link.
  2. Love the updated logo (thicker strokes really look great), love the waving flag with the M. The uniforms are 9.8/10 for me. Something about them just screams "too much flag", and perhaps if you take off the stripes on the jersey or the helmet stripe off the M-flag helmets it would look better. Another idea is perhaps just having the flag detail on the collar instead of the pretty large shoulder hoops. This is a great concepts thread, good work.
  3. I too like the simpler T cap logo, but IMO it looks better as a red letter outlined in white (see Rangers' Twitter avatar) than the white letter outlined in red (throwback hats). When they updated the blue hats in 2000, they had one with red T/white shadow, but they wore it like twice, for whatever reason.
  4. Would also be a good time to update the number font. Bring back the Futura the Ducks wore on the late 90s alts (it's a good hockey font)!
  5. That's not an exact copy though. Quite a few differences.
  6. A great improvement for the 49ers. It probably annoys Nike to no end to have those three stripes on the sleeves lol. I wonder if at some point they’ll use gold facemasks (a la the UCLA helmet update) but clearly not yet.
  7. Mother’s Day hats dropped today (gray hats with pink logos): https://www.lids.com/o-19+br-127+d-6016?_s=EML22_LIDS_042522_MOTHERSDAY_HATS&loc=en-US&cur=USD&utm_medium=email&utm_source=MKTG&utm_position=BC1MS_A&utm_content=&SFMC=2199394_16022_290_9a649b992c2ac37e76a1fdd8b673ca9c
  8. They wore the snake head hats against the Mets on Jackie Robinson day.
  9. Orioles wore orange and gray jerseys in Tampa two weeks ago so it looks like they have all of the sets.
  10. The mid-2000s set was brutal.
  11. https://news.sportslogos.net/2021/12/03/new-england-patriots-throwback-uniforms-to-return-in-2022/football/ Not sure about supply issues on these specifically, but there were definite plans for 2022. Fanatics is selling Mac Jones red jerseys.
  12. This just isn't true...especially with helmet stripes/no helmet stripes. The projection here is pretty bad. Edit: There’s no real definition of “casual” fan, but I would bet most people would identify the Lions in both of these videos pretty easily Here they’re playing each other in 1993…the Honolulu blu is still pretty distinct
  13. I think the Patriots ProShop confirmed this a few weeks ago...will be the only new alt helmet-throwback uni in 2022.
  14. This would be a lot better with a symmetrical-serifed base on the F. The extra wide serif on the right side makes it look more like an E.
  15. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/33690179/mlb-giving-roberto-clemente-award-winners-new-patch-caps-helmets-sources-say
  16. They may still yet do a Weagle on a RR jersey in the future, but it would have to be in the blue/black/alt scheme. If you're looking for a weagle jersey in red/white/blue, then it's just a normal alternate.
  17. Lol quite a few of the recent huge investments in Fanatics are from the leagues themselves. Fanatics isn’t getting kicked to the curb anytime in the next few decades. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2022/04/06/nfl-mlb-players-unions-lead-latest-investment-in-fanatics.html
  18. Lucas Daitchman @ldconceptssays a black Screamin’ Eagle jersey will be the Caps’ RR jersey. These will probably sell out fairly quickly in the area https://russianmachineneverbreaks.com/2022/04/17/rumor-capitals-to-rock-screaming-eagle-jerseys-in-black-for-next-seasons-reverse-retro-revival/
  19. I don't think the Dodgers have any memorial patches on the right sleeve this year. Last year they did but not this year. Either the All Star Patch or the Dodger Stadium patch would have looked great...not sure why they went with the blank sleeve.
  20. So Reverse Retro for the Winter Classic? Doesn't the WC try to be more vintage than the 80s/90s?
  21. A 200 foot hockey rink would be dwarfed by the massive size of Daytona. The stands at Daytona are like 1/2-3/4 mile long.
  22. Coors Field already had a Stadium Series game in 2016. And it's hard to play a hockey game outside when it's 70 degrees in Tampa or South Florida. Dallas and Nashville have complete different winter climates than Florida.
  23. I just did that Google search, and you picked the one skyline photo that didn't look like any of the other search images lol. Not a huge fan of the Ducks concept (would be helped by using orange, and the actual old-timey Disneyland font would probably look better than the free/pirated Disney font that's on every tourist group's -t-shirt), but the Coyotes one is pretty nice.
  24. When you were a kid, did you think Cleveland, Seattle, Minnesota, Atlanta, and St Louis (and even California) wore black? If not, why did they appear more navy than Yankees/Tigers even though they wore the same shade?
  25. The Rays made that design their full time alternate this year. The light blue jersey with "Rays" has been replaced. The Cubs wore their blue jerseys against the Pirates yesterday. The Brewers wore their navy alts on Opening Day in Chicago. Nats wore their red alternates yesterday. Also, the Guardians and Royals wore their alt jerseys on Monday.
