  1. Still holding out hope for PDX to get a team...I'm sure they're gonna rebuild their buzz once the A's and Rays handle their business and MLB actually announces that expansion is open. (Maybe I'm just biased because I'm going there in ten days, and it's one of the places I'm considering moving to)
  2. Whatever happens, they BETTER not get rid of the "TC" mongram...it is one of the perfect cap logos in the majors (right next to the Yankees NY, the Tigers Old English D and my Brewers' ball-and-glove).
  3. Maybe they just wanted to reserve the "Houston Christian" and "HCU" name in case the Disciples of Christ were thinking of starting a school in Houston with a purple, black and white color scheme (like TCU first, then ACU and GCU after)
  4. And finally, the SINGLE-A FLORIDA STATE LEAGUE. Clearwater Threshers Daytona Tortugas Fort Myers Mighty Mussels St. Lucie Mets Tampa Tarpons And that's a wrap.

  14. After the initial day, the mothership hasn't updated the rest of the MiLB & Marvel "Defenders of the Diamond" logos...so here they are, starting with the IL. AAA INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE Charlotte Knights Columbus Clippers Gwinnett Stripers Indianapolis Indians Iowa Cubs Lehigh Valley IronPigs Louisville Bats Memphis Redbirds Norfolk Tides Omaha Storm Chasers Rochester Red Wings Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders St. Paul Saints Syracuse Mets Toledo Mud Hens Worcester Red Sox
  15. Daytona Tortugas: Cover of "What If...the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' favorite food was protein shakes instead of pizza?"
  16. Asheville Tourists: It appears the Tick and Arthur have made more progress in repairing Chairface Chippendale's attempted vandalism of the moon...they erased the "C" before and now the "H," so it appears the "A" is all that's left.
  17. St. Lucie Mets (Apparently Mr. Met ate Port-Man's big asparagus stalk) Worcester Red Sox (Not since Watchmen has that smiley-face looked so menacing)
  18. For some reason, I like the Gwinnett Stripers' one best right now. Maybe it's because we're finally seeing an earthworm as a baseball mascot, maybe it's because of his determined but not overly aggressive look, maybe it's because of the seemingly insurmountable odds he faces that he's willing to survive (not the least of which is the team being named after his predator).
  19. With Kennesaw waiting until 2024, I'm curious as to how C-USA plans to make do with 9 in '23? Same way they're making do with 11 this year, I suppose.
  20. They're gonna keep unveiling new ones until November 17. Although discussion kinda fell by the wayside on the mothership after the first day, there have been some dandies and doozies unveiled ever since...which stand out to you all?
  21. Could somebody please tell me why this beauty of an alternate isn't their primary logo?
  22. Not sure whether it means they're just delaying the proposal even further or outright rejecting it...
  23. Apparently UIndy's Board of Trustees meeting is tonight...so we will have an answer very soon in that regard.
  24. D1 New Orleans is strongly considering adding football and would build a new privately funded stadium on the NOLA waterfront to host such a team if a November student fee increase referendum passes. Privateer football could kick off as soon as 2025, and would play in the FCS Southland (with UNO's other sports teams)
  25. The FBS postseason status quo apologists (they've been around at least since the Coalition days) always talk about how they don't want college football to turn into March Madness. With Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, Syracuse, UCLA and Indiana all 3-0, it already is. (I'm just sorry that UConn missed the memo)
