  1. It's also around the corner from Dabutt, Arkansas.
  2. 5,000 fans a year does not make for a successful franchise/league. They need 15k-20k. I posted this in the XFL thread, but it shows the average attendances for the AAF (red) and XFL2020 (blue). Every team averaged way higher than 5,000 fans, including the league that folded for financial reasons during it's first season. TEAM AVG ATT. GAMES St. Louis 28,541 2 XFL 23 San Antonio 27,721 4 XFL 23 Seattle 25,616 2 XFL 23 Orlando 19,648 3 XFL 23 San Diego 19,154 4 Houston 18,230 3 XFL 23 Dallas 17,163 3 XFL 23 DC 16,179 3 XFL 23 Tampa Bay 15,183 2 New York 14,875 2 Birmingham 14,307 4 Los Angeles 13,124 3 Memphis 12,944 4 Atlanta 10,895 4 Arizona 9,932 4 Salt Lake 9,067 4 5,000 fans a game at Highmark may work for a regionally exclusive eastern Ohio/western Pennsylvania league, but not a national one, even if it is only in half of the US.
  3. Are football fans in Pittsburgh gonna become Maulers fans if they go by Canton or Ohio? Probably not. Call them Pittsburgh, and that's their team. That's who they're gonna latch on to. Then, in year 3, if they put each team in their own home city, you've established your fanbase ahead of time.
  4. I have the Cardinals one (diamond era, no FL patch, but sublimated NL logo on the right side) in a low profile. About the only 59fifty cap I've found that fits me in many, many years. I wear it pretty much everyday.
  5. As one of 5 kids and an uncle of 10, you're actually missing out on outsourcing additional spoiling shares. I'm single and have no kids, yet somehow, am always broke.
  6. Wait... you're an Astros fan?
  7. I didn't read no St. Louis Cardinals jersey.
  8. Somehow quote-posted my own post. Don't know how that happened.
  9. Exactly. I'm actually all for Vegas growing in teams, but they are not viewed as a potential successful market for the XFL. Dallas and Houston are gonna draw because it's Texas. Seattle was surprisingly popular as well. DC did pretty well and their numbers are pretty ideal if they're the bottom of a league (relative to these statistics above and the future). But look at the markets that don't have NFL teams or theirs moved. THAT should be your first target. San Antonio, St. Louis and San Diego fit that demographic and are your best bet to thrive in this league.
  10. Here's average attendance figures from AAF (red) in 2019 and XFL (blue) in 2020. TEAM AVG ATT. GAMES St. Louis 28,541 2 XFL 23 San Antonio 27,721 4 XFL 23 Seattle 25,616 2 XFL 23 Orlando 19,648 3 XFL 23 San Diego 19,154 4 Houston 18,230 3 XFL 23 Dallas 17,163 3 XFL 23 DC 16,179 3 XFL 23 Tampa Bay 15,183 2 New York 14,875 2 Birmingham 14,307 4 Los Angeles 13,124 3 Memphis 12,944 4 Atlanta 10,895 4 Arizona 9,932 4 Salt Lake 9,067 4 Theoretically, you'd want to take the top 8 if you're creating an 8-team league. And San Diego is the only one in the top 8 NOT in the XFL in 2023. Instead, taking a chance on a recently saturated market that includes an NFL team.
  11. Well, if they're smart, then Season 3 will feature San Diego instead of Vegas. San Diego, San Antonio and St. Louis together could easily make up for any of the other teams not fully carrying their weight in attendance. Probably Orlando, too.
  12. I was a little surprised they hadn't. San Diego has a new (and smaller) stadium available since SDSU plays in the fall (haven't checked on their soccer accomidations), AND is a recently vacated NFL market, like St. Louis, that would probably turn out big time for games. Unless there is some issue with the stadium availability, would've been a better move.
  13. Football travel expenses are not the same as MLB, NBA or NHL as they only play once a week for 17 weeks (plus some possible playoff travel).
  14. Dallas WANTED to be in the NFC East to preserve their rivalries with the Giants, Eagles and Commanders. The majority of 2002 realignment in the NFL was to keep rivalries intact.
  15. Centene Stadium in St. Louis changed to CITYPARK 8 months after Centene acquired the naming rights and 4 months before St. Louis City SC even plays their first game in MLS.
  16. I figured out a couple months ago, and I wonder if it's the NFL's endgame, that you could have every team play one International game every year. I'd say starting week 2 going through week 17 (leaving weeks 1 & 18 in the US only). 16 weeks/games x 2 teams. Basically, everybody would get 8 true home and road games plus 1 international game. I'd say the vast majority would be in Europe (England, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, etc.) with a Mexico game and maybe a revolving game at various locations around the world (Australia, Africa, South America, etc.). (Some European games can be moved to another continent some years, as well). Would probably be more plausible than having an actual European-based team while achieving their desire of broadening the game worldwide. I don't know. Just a thought.
  17. The Blue Jays would probably have WHITE/GRAY/ROYAL/POWDER as their 4 with the red jerseys as Canada Day only until they unveil their CC, which will probably be red and white, be Canada-themed and debut ON Canada Day. My guess, anyway.
  18. My assumption would be that the 4+1 rule is only for uniforms in their regular rotation and not applied to one-off uniforms/throwbacks. BUT, if id did mean the end of "holiday" uniforms, it could just be the jersey/pants themselves, but not the caps, as Nike has no control over that, really, since they're New Era.
  19. Finally watched that show this past weekend. ... and finally just got that song out of my head yesterday. So thanks...
